    997 GT3 Color To Sample?

    My first post - So go easy on me.
    I have been a member for a couple years but will not have had a proper Porsche until my 997 GT3 arrives.

    I am smitten with the Titanium Grey/Silver color seen on the CLK-DTM cabriolet displayed and raced at Goodwood this year. I would love to see this color on a GT3.

    Anybody know if color to sample is available on the GT3.
    At any reasonable price.

    Yes colour to sample is availible. May add 3-6 months to delivery time...

    How do you think this color will look on the GT3?

    I saw this one too in Goodwood, the color is absolutely stunning in real life, very agressive! Go for it!

    Great color. Porsche needs to do more to offer great paint - the current selection is very dull.

    Maybe 997 Style could give you a little sneak peak at your selection...I don't really think I've ever seen a GT3 in a metallic color. It could either work very well or look very unporschesque.

    Thanks everyone, I really thought the color was unique.
    Glad to hear it looks as good in real life.

    I believe that the 997 with its distinctive bodywork and new rear bumper would really look amazing in this color.

    And I agree that it may just be very improper for a Porsche.

    I appreciate very much the feedback.

    I've ordered a 997 GT3 (in Hong Kong), to be delivered around April 2007 and tentatively in WHITE because the local dealers in HK told me "Color to Sample" is not available.... not even if it is a Porsche color.

    I personally wanted to get my GT3 in a heritage Porsche color "riviera blue", but still got declined without explanation... rather rude and unacceptable I thought. I am not exactly asking to install heat seeking missles on the car and it is a signature Porsche color I am asking for...

    I've written to the people at the Germany HQ, Head of Customer Commitment and a manager @Porsche Exclusive Program today.

    I'll update you guys whether color to sample is indeed a definite NO... and I will ask them to give me the reason why its such a challenge to provide this option (which Porsche is so proud of) to a collector's item such as a GT3.

    This is quite the norm for Porsche today. It took 3 trys on my part to finally arrive at a color they would agree to paint,--and that took pressure from PCNA and my local dealer via a trans-Atlantic teleconference with PAG.

    I have not yet found the proper color name or code from the CLK DTM.
    I am mostly preoccupied with finding out an official confirmation on whether or not Color to Sample with be available on the 997 GT3.

    I have read Ray88's latest communications with Porsche, and would appreciate any non-speculative information anyone has regarding the Color to Sample and the CLK DTM color. It appears to me a mettalic finish to me, but it very well may be a matte finish.

    Anyone ever seen a Matte finish that held up and looked good over the long haul? (I have not)

    I did see a matt black finish on a 930 MANY years ago at Zuffenhausen. But can't tell how it would have looked over the long haul. It certainly would be a different look!
