Oxonian, you are in Saudi Arabia where it's pretty hot. Tkids, you don't write what part of California you live, but it may also be pretty warm there right now.
The plastic underbody panels would expand a lot more than the steel unibody they are attached to at high ambient temperatures. Get your dealers to remove all those underbody panels and then refit them again, ensuring that they are flat, not "bowed", when they are tightened up.
I suspect that the diagnosis mentioned above was right, but that putting a screw into a loose bowed section of expanded panel just wasn't the right treatment.
