    hope u like my work

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

in this pics no big mirror and no directional lens in the front headlights

is also look too much ready to go to be a restyling for me....maybe is really a special edition like a turbolook or ?!?!?!?
The Targa run with only a few camouflage one months before the release..this one is the same condition..really don't know waht to thing..

the rear lights looks to be with led too..

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

Thansk for the pics Sergini! The front pics show LED directionals, camouflaged with tape to make them look like the standard 997. The rest is for me too dark to tell.

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

It looks wide bodied to me. Maybe it is the new C4S?

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

restyled C4S for MY08? are those LED tail lights?

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

    yes those are LEDS, finally

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

    Awsome sergini!!

I photoshoped a couple of them a bit to remove the shadows and better see some of the details.

    Great find sergini!

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

    2nd

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

    rough but

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

Almost looks like the rear lenses have been reshaped to lead into a rear reflector (tricky with the current 997):

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

If you've just ordered one, you must be really pissed. If RC is right and if they don't release the facelift before 2009, then I just don't understand why porsche let people see those cars.

It sound like, "hey, facelift is 2 years away but if you buy one now you're already buying an "old" model. How crappy marketing is that?

    Thanks for the pics sergini.

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

If it is for MY2009 then that is really weird to have it so visible now.

Porsche marketing must've went on vacation or left their little brother in charge.

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

Yes. very strange to let that car drive around with hardly any camouflage

We have now seen the camouflaged facelifted Cayenne for about a year and it will only come next year... so, is this just to see how people react ???
A special edition like Darius said?

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

This has to be for MY 2008, they look ready to release it now...

When will the rear LED will move to the turbo?

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

    Guys
    For me two things:

Or is a special edition ala 996 40 Jahre or 996 4S and they redesign the tail lights to "find" easily the rear reflector(put on only in the wide body) like said hellgelb..and this thing is not easy becouse they will make this rear bumper and lights only for this model..but may be also possible..

    or

They are really testing the facelift, and this thing i think made big problems for Porsche becouse there are testing again the GT2 and the Turbo cabrio mules with the "old" tail lights..and they have released the Targa two days ago with the "old" lights, and the GT3 and the Turbo were released two months ago and all us are waiting again first car to be delivered...so is impossible to change the look of the rear lights so soon on all the 997 range

I hope is a special edition...really is too much uncovered to be two years far from the release...

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

I hope they won't bring back the C4 turbo wannabe and the rear reflecting band.

On the rear LED, if the changes are just cosmetic, I don't see the problem changing the whole lineup. Maybe the LED just wasn't ready for MY 2007. It would be a better marketing decision to go ahead with the changes than holding off just not to p/off recent buyers. Just makes the lineup "fresh".

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

    it's strange !
this car has the Carrera 325hp brake calipers ,che carrera 325hp wheels and the carrera s twin tailpipes ...
the sound was louder that a 355 carrera S ...but the car is not equipped with the PSE ....

ot :later i put a video of my WV golf Gti on the ring ...it's a funny car .

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

Nice PS work, the strip looks good and I hope the car will have one.
To be honest I'm really confused. What the hell is going on here. Is that car a 997 facelift of is it a totally new model Porsche is about to release?
Since the 997 won't be facelifted until another 1-2 years If find it highly unorthodox of Porsche to be driving around with these cars non camoed. Not only is it bad business wise but it also confuses potential buyer.
I would certainly not want to buy a 90k C4S will these pictures all over the net.

ok,but with these new shape of the rear lights they must change also all the rear bumper turbo/gt2 and GT3 enclosed..and this sounds stupid to me..they can change it to led also without changing for so a few mm the shape of the lights..

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

The car barely has any camo on it, which makes me beleive that it will be presented soon. Paris show maybe?

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

My guess is that it is a MY2008 "60 Year anniversary of Porsche" special edition to be released next summer.

    Exactly.

When the 996 turbo came out in 2002, the carrera got upgraded and recieved the head lights of the turbo. It was not the other way around.

I'm sure there's something we're not understanding properly. This just can't be. I'm sure they're not that stupid at porsche. There's gotta be something else behind all this. At least I hope so.

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

Any speculation on what this red thing is? It was also on the car in the other set of pics taken half a world away in the USA.

I look at it this way. All the components are cosmetic, made of plastic and are bolt on.

It takes very little effort/money to update the look of the cars.

They can do it at any time with any 911.

Re: new 997 "restyling"pics cought at Nurburgring

    Awesome shots Sergini thanks

yes..but is not right versus people that order a brand new turbo,a targa or something else..to change this parts so soon..

i believe in Porsche, they can't make us a thing like this..

i think the wide body version of this model will have the red stripes between the tail lights, and the narrow one not..this is narrow and maybe the reflectable parts on the taillights is covered from the camouflage..

    Darius,

The turbo looks different from any other 911 and Targa has the complete black roof/top that hardly can be mistaken by other 911 models, so I don't see any threats to these owners.

As to the current Carrera owners we all knew that after a 4 year run there will be some cosmetic changes as it happened to 996 models too.

I like the rear better it seems to me it blends much nicer and rounder.

Other than that I still see the stop watch on the dash .

    Yes, I agree.

BUT I believe things are changing. Business is getting more ruthless. So what if they pi** off people who have already bought their cars?

Maybe the marketing analysis, consumer profiles, etc etc indicate zero impact from dissatisfied existing owners... . You can do alot more things when, demand is high and your waiting lists are long.

Sounds awful, I know. I "hate" it too. But maybe they've started to think like pr*cks?
