    904 GTS/memory lane

    Here's a picture of me and my 904 GTS in the early 70's. I raced the car for some time, then restored it to concours condition and it placed second in class at the Porsche Parade. Sadly, I sold it in the eary 80's, but the memories are wonderful. I will post a few other memory lane pictures after this one...

    Absolutely STUNNING car! I love the 904!

    Just one thing though... that can't be the early 70's because I see a 928 in the background :P

    Late 70's perhaps... as they were produced 78'-95'

    Absolutely, you should have kept it ... The 904 is one of my favorite Porsche.

    Thanks for catching my date error, guys. This photo was in the late 70's, taken in DC, after my restoration. I had bought the car in the early 70's in England, then brought it to the US to race and enjoy. To make my remorse worse, I bought the car for 4000 US delivered to New Orleans. I actually drove the car, with full race decals and preparation, off the docks and all the way north through Mississippi to Memphis. A bit naive and crazy...

    Here's a couple.. The red one was on display at Porsche of Naples, and the silver one was at the 50th PCA Parade..the red one compliments of the Collier Museum in Naples, a private museum chuck full of Porsches..

    Does anybody else feel the same? When I see pics of a 904, or a genuine '73 RS 2.7 for that matter... I feel real love... I love those cars man! Should I be worried?

    Thanks, Roy (in NH). Those auction houses really know how to get bidders going, and then tack on a hefty fee as well. I wonder if the collector/vintage car market will be impacted by the slowing global economy and weaker stock markets?
