Short Shifter (retrofit) - first impressions
Just picked up my car from the OPC after having the Short-Shifter option fitted to my C2S Cab
First impressions are that it's definitely more 'punchy' than the standard shifter, and does indeed make the driving experience feel more connected. Gears aren't any harder to get in than before, nice and smooth. I think it may take me a while to get used to not holding the clutch in for so long though...
In short (no pun intended), I like it!!
It's not as big a gear-throw difference as I thought it was going to be however, and practically Pounds400 (even with a PCGB parts discount) seems a lot for such a slight change. But hey, these cars are about maximum enjoyment factor, so I definitely made the right choice (especially as I have a track day booked tomorrow to practice with!)
