    996 GT3 vs F355 Challenge

    I want a car that suit me to improve and develop my driving skills!

    Which one better?

    Handling?
    Speed?
    ... ?

    Challenge, since it has, unless I'm mistaken, a cage and fire system.

    The cage is useful on street too?

    That will add weight to the car, so it will affect the performance.

    I perfer no cage for road car.

    My mistake. I thought you were talking about a suitable track car.

    For a road car comparison, the 355 Challenge does not qualify since it is a club race car, not a road car. The 996 GT3 is a road car.

    BTW, IMHO, neither of these cars will make you a better driver since I believe their power and handling limits are too high for dry street conditions.

    Drivers improve their skill by frequently partially losing and regaining control of the car under a variety of conditions. This is one of the reasons why one or more of the F430 chassis engineers drive/drove non-S version Mini Coopers -- narrow tires and go-kart handling.

    Bingo! My friend's car is actually the first street F355 delivered into the US, and was first F355 conversion to Challenge specs. It was raced in the Challenge series in 1995 (only F355 Challenge car obviously, competing against 348 Challenge cars at that time). All other F355 Challenge cars were then sold as race cars, not street legal. Full interior of this car has been returned to street specs, but still have the roll cage intact.

    Not by much.... And It makes the car structuraly stiffer so it's better through corners (Although the difference is small)

    Thanks for the reply!!

    Karting! I love that!! I just went to karting and I just can't stop doing that...

    I have driven a 355 and the car is not what I wanted.
    Exige and GT3 are great.

    I thinking to buy which one, since I really like karting, maybe the MR Exige is better for me?

    Any advise?? I also started another post for that...
