    GT3 vs F360

I am thinking to buy a used F360 or to order a new GT3 next year.

Which one handle better and give the driver more feedback?

I won't lose too much money when I resale the 360, but what about the new GT3? I am afraid a 3.8L GT3 will out soon...

    Any advice?

    Re: GT3 vs F360

Ultimate handling is probably pretty comparable, but the 360 is more fun. Lighter, more direct steering, and changes direction more quickly. The GT3 is probably a little quicker lap times, but the 360 is more involving.

    Re: GT3 vs F360

I am sorry but that is incorrect. The GT3 offers far more communicative and direct steering than the 360 (exception being the CS) as well as higher handling limits. The 360 has been described as a little soft, something you would never hear about the 996 gt3. As for the 997 GT3, well it can pull 1.4gs and laps the N'ring in 7:40 something, a much better driver's car than the 360, faster, much better handling, and depending on your criteria, much more fun.

I've driven both at the track and I disagree. I have never driven a street car with more direct steering than the 360/430, it is very nearly on a par with my Formula Ford. The GT3 was much less communicative, but for some that may be preferable, the 360 changes direction so quickly it can get you in trouble if you aren't used to it.

Gary, have you driven 997GT3 w/the nonlinear steering ratio...and the PASM interface?

I've driven the 360 and find the complete opposite. Driving my car, you feel much more involved than in the Ferrari. Thats both on track and on the road...
Plus a GT3's just plain faster And better sounding

Now I know you're on crack!

Actually, I really like the GT3, we just disagree (and I know GT3 owners who agree with me, incidentally), so enjoy!

No drugs man..... I'm just high on life

I know most will disagree, but I do think GT3's are better sounding. Just like I think the 997GT3 sounds better than the F430. (Its just my opinion )

I'll have my Porsche over any Ferrari anyday and I'm sure you'll say the same, just for The Italian stallions... So you enjoy aswell

    Re: GT3 vs F360

If I had to make this decision, I would look at it this way.

Do you want a car that won't last past 40k miles, costs an arm and leg to repair/maintain, can't be parked anywhere or driven on normal roads, but you want a tremendous amount of attention, and all that goes with the Ferrari ownership thing...go for it.

If you want a car that will last well past 100k miles, is cheaper to maintain/repair, is just as fast or faster, but doesn't necessarily have the WOW factor, buy the Porsche.

I am not partial to either, but from many years of experience talking to people at the track who have owned both, the hardcore racer types would take the Porsche. You can do more from a mod/upgrade standpoint. The parts are cheaper (if you can call Porsche parts cheap). I am not sure which car would depreciate faster, but I guarantee the cost of ownership is MUCH higher on the Ferrari.

From my perspective, I see the GT3 as being more of a creative platform that I can tweak and mold to suit my personal requirement. I don't see nearly the aftermarket for the Ferrari.

Sorry, but in my experience, admittedly with 360 and 430 models only, that is just B.S. Can't argue with your reasoning on the competition side of things, though, Porsche is the way to go if track or race is first priority and you didn't sell out of a dot com in 1999.

    Gary

    Re: GT3 vs F360

That's because you probably can't find a Ferrari with 40k miles on it.
