    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3

That's why they need to add rear seats to the regular GT3... The GT3 is good enough to be a daily driver, people who want the "manly" car only want the RS. In some ways the RS has taken the spot of the old GT3 and the GT3 should take the spot of the old sport chasssis C2 or newer GTS. But Porsche makes way too much money on the GTS to let that happen.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3

    DaveGordon:

AFAIK silver GT3 wheels first became available on the R. Just platinum /black before that.

I think the Silver wheels on the R are a different finish (Satin Aluminum) than the typical Silver paint which is standard on the new GT3.

I think this Satin Aluminum is shiny and beautiful, but extremely difficult to keep clean with iron brakes (don't think there is a clear coat).  But since all 911R had PCCB's, this was not an issue...

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3

The new GT models ride well enough and have PDK available, that the compromises required to drive them for the average person are relatively little.  We did not see this breadth of customer base with the 997 GT3 models.

I do not think it is a bad thing.  I am able to use my GT4 more often, use it for grand touring, etc.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3

Seems like the GT3 is going to be pretty loud for a daily driver.  Maybe they were not concerned with the possible later arrival of the Touring package which could restore some sound deadening material???yes

Yes, different silvers. I just meant silver in general. Typing on my phone, so was being economic with words.

Silver wheels become an option with 991.1 GT3.

BTW, there five wheel finish options for 991.2 GT3:

    -standard silver

    -semigloss silver

    -platinum

    -black

    -black with red lip

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3

Maybe it's all the marketing, but guards red seems like the right color for this car.

too many rich regular customers here, and people trading 991.1 GT3 and RS will have first dip.

we have 2 local Porsche dealers in Vancouver and Langley respectively, and another small one in Victoria island.

all dealers together probably will get about 70-80 cars I guess.

I personally know at least 10 people that want one.

having said that, I probably can get one and there is no rush Smiley

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3

Guards red is the best color for any 911. If I was to do it again, it would be guards red again with two tone red black inside. That's also what I am thinking for the Singer if I ever get around to build one.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3

That is a high reving bitch of a motor. Having a hard time seeing how I would not get arrested daily. The Turbo I have seems much more useable in daily traffic. Much more stealthy. But I would still love to have one!

Thing is pretty simple.  If someone is die hard manual fan or can live only with the stick and clutch inside its sportscar choice is only one-manual gearbox. For all others choice is even more obvious-amazing PDK-S.

I actually plan to get the 70th (if they make one, and if I am lucky at the draw) as well in 2026 to make a threesome.

FYI, there are currently 3 people that hold both the 50th and 60th club coupes in the world - me in Canada and 2 people in US.

In the meantime, I also want a new manual GT3.Smiley
