    My Wait is over, Picked up car today

    Well today was the day. Just picked it up a couple of hours ago. I really was tired of reading the posts and magazine articles. I wanted to know how good it really is. It is good!!! More posts later tomorrow. I know i will get mixed opinions about the wood but I like it. One of the pictures has the bonnet slightly open. Missed that when I took the picture

    Actually this one is Atlas, Looks differnt colors depending on time of the day, bright sunlight vs clouds.

    Congratulations on such a beautiful car. Atlas + tan is great!

    BTW I think the wood accents work very nicely in a tan interior. Good picks.

    Yes the boys at Benchmark will do front parking sensors, Rosen Blue tooth and Passport with Laser Defusers. Still thinking through the Audio Stuff. Might do Cayenne Sat or Denison IPOD connect

    I don't know why people don't like the wood. I think it looks great. Natural Brown and Sycamore is the best looking interior combo IMO.

    I personally like the beige with sycamore. Or blue with light wood (not sure what it's called). I think all the aversion towards wood is a product of the "boy-racer" mentality. "The car doesn't look sporty enough with wood", they say. That's a load of bull. It performs the same, regardless of whether it has wood, CF or aluminum inserts.

    Wood does not suit the character of the car IMHO. I can't understand why someone would buy the wood (or aluminum/CF) steering wheel, it seems it would become very slippery in hard driving situations.

    For this reaqson my car interior is all leather. HOWEVER, IMO a person that is going to drive their car as an everyday car has every good reason to go with the type of interior (wood for some) that is the best combination of use and looks, an interior that gets their blood flowing just to look at. If wood does that for another person, I say

    You order the sport steering wheel, I know I would. However, wood IS sporty, as it was omnipresent in sports cars of yesterday. Call it a "classic" touch, or a "sophisticated one", in defiance to the trend of sticking carbon fiber everywhere on the car, except for where it would really help reduce weight .

    Congratulations on taking delivery of your 997TT. You must have gotten her from Barrier Motors because I recall seeing on the order list that an Atlas Grey 997TT was coming in. I'm about 2 places down the list from you for an October build 997TT in Cobalt blue. I'm currently in Stuttgart, Germany right across the street from Porsche and I can tell you and everybody else that there are a whole bunch of Turbos parked outside ready for shipment! I'm going to try and get a tour of the factory in addition to the Zentrum if I can. I saw a nice white 997TT parked outside with everything painted all white including the lower spoilers all the way around. Looked really sharp! I'll try not to disappoint with the pictures that I've taken.

    Again, congrats, Rich! I like the combination you've come up with!
