    New car and Break in Period

    Probably next i will pick up my brand new car. it is an S fully eqquiped. Any suggestions conserning breakin period?
    and for how long

    Please search the topic. There's a thread on this just about every week or 2. Everything to say has been said and can be summed up as Throt did above. There is absolutely no consensus on this . . . no "good" answer to your question, so just use common sense. And enjoy your new beauty!

    Obey manual until 1000 miles then ignore it and go to 5200rpm for the second 1000 miles. Eaaaaasy to get thru breakin that way.

    Congrats! So you sold your 997S with -20mm sports chassis and got a new one with PASM?

    just wait til it warms up before you get on it. give it like 1000 miles and you are good.

    Oh no! Not this again!

    Is this your first Porsche? (Usually only people who never owned a Porsche ask this question).

    What's the fastest you've ever driven a sports car? How far back?

    If you haven't driven fast in a long time (over 125 mph) then you should break YOURSELF in before you break the car.

    Let it warm up for 20 miles and then have your way with it. It won't break.

    You probably know this but..., the engine is not warmed up when the water temp guage is at 200+. The OIL temp is what you want to go by after a cold start.

    always whisper "zoom zoom zoom" when accelerating, it helps the engine feel good.
