    Will PSE be available?

    I've been salivating over a Carrera for a few months now. The wife and I head to one of the local dealerships last night to "just look" some more. I was shocked when she said that she really likes the looks of the Cayman S over the C2! Then she realized it is ~$20K less expensive. I bet you can see where this is going!

    Yup, I am now looking over the options and configurations of the Cayman. I still need to drive one back to back with a Carrera, etc., before actually switching my allegiance but I am evaluating one.

    One thing I don't see on the P-site is PSE as an option for the Cayman S. Does anyone know if it will be avilable as an option for MY07, or later, or never? (I won't even ask about Satellite radio!)

    If you want a 911, don't let the decision be made by someone who is probably never going to drive it.

    I see too many whipped people lately.

    According to earlier posts here on Rennteam, PSE will be available for the Boxster and Cayman from august 2006.

    When I test-drived the cayman S , for 5 days.. I can say that the engine sound is more present in the interior than a 997, specially at low revvs....So I if the PSE comes out for the cayman S, it will be great !!!

    Of course at high revvs, the cayman sounded more to some kind of "wind" noise, like if someone was whisppering to your ears, anyway its stock sound is great...But yeah I would add PSE..

    You could always retrofit PSE

    See my post on the 987 board also -- TechArt exhaust available now. Does anyone know if the PSE for the 987 has a switch like the 997 PSE?

    I'm not "whipped" but with everything in life there are compromises to be made. This is a situation where I am deciding whether I want to comprise or not. I, try to, pick my battles wisely and this is one worth waging!

    Actually, after a discussion about the C2 vs. Cayman last night with her we have decided to continue looking at the Carrera.

    So at low rev, the Cayman S actually sounded better than the 997 as it is louder? This is relevant to congested traffic conditions like that in HK and I also notice the cayman s being considerably noisier than the 987 s I own. It's definitely a good feature to me. BTW, I have no clue but what does the PSE do to my 987s? Make it sound sweeter, louder? No idea but I am interested I think the 987s is too quiet.

    The UK configurator now has the Cayman with MY07 spec and PSE is an option at Pounds1022. Cayman S and the Boxsters are not yet updated

    I'd really like to hear the 'S' with the PSE option. Bet it sounds mint.

    UK Boxster configurator has now been updated for the 2007 '07 models and includes sports exhaust as an option for both models at a price of GBP 1,022.

    Description as follows :-

    Sports Exhaust System
    "With modified silencers. Includes switch in lower switch trim to activate the sports sound. In conjunction with Sport Chrono Package/Plus the sports sound can be activated with the sports button. Note: available from approx. 01/2007"

    It is NOT currently listed in the UK Cayman configurator for either version for some reason.
