Any truth in the rumor they'll put the rear flap of a tipper truck on the back of the next generation of the X3 and X5 models to be introduced?

I actually like the tail lights. What I am disappointed in is the front fascia of the car. Although I am still going to get the car- I thought it would look a bit less 6 series-ish 'M' style and more M5'ish. To me it looks sorta AMG (in that sense, a bit too reserved for what a bmw should be). Hopefully they will have good rims like the last one had and a decent array of colors and options to make me more enthused about the car.
But other than the M3- I don't want th CLK63 (which will be the 55 here in the states). It's not a manual. And if I wanted a simply fast and boring car to drive I would have gone with a MERCEDES already. I want to drive my car to work- not have it look like I'm an executive, and not make it look like I'm that serious about things- but I do like some things.
A bmw says all of those things. An audi to me says you couldn't afford a Mercedes and you didn't like BMW. A Mercedes says I can afford a bmw and an Audi but I prefer the best luxury that money can buy opposed to most intersting ride. A 55 doesn't scream sporty to me- it scream big power- none can take a turn to save their lives.

Mercedes the best luxury money can't buy? You are living in the past.
And about Audi, I would pick an Audi any day over a Mercedes. If the new A4 was available and looked half way decent I would have picked it over the BMW...

I would take an A8 W12 over any Mercedes...AMG or not

An audi over a mercedes.... the only audi I would take over a Mercedes would be the RS4. THAT'S IT!
I would rather have the new S550 over the A8 and the 7 series. I would choose the S55 over both the 760 and the A8 W12.
500 plus hp vs. what, 412? or something in that range.
The S class LOOKS good. That and it drives good too. The Mercedes CLS looks good too- even though they gave it a gay coin name 'the 4 door coupe.'
An A6 is LAME- it looks exactly like a stretched out version of the last generation A4.

Interesting. Where I live, nobody in their right mind would prefer a Mercedes over an Audi. The Audi has a much better quality, better dynamics, better driving feel, better reliability (electronics especially), and is even a bit cheaper.
I agree MB wins in the looks department right now, though (I hate the new huge-grill design).
Guess which marque I'm driving!
The only MBs I'd be interested in would be the CLK and the CLS - among the most beautiful cars on the market, indeed.
Then again, no European TV channel went as low as CBS and made up bogus stories about the Audi 100/5000, which might explain why Audi outsells MB here.
