    Let the Modifications begin....

Ok I've had my car about seven months and just hit the 2000 mile mark so I figured it was some time for some mods. The first thing I did was change my wheels, originally I had the lobster claws and I thought they were ok but everyone has them so I took them off and stored them in the garage and switched to the Carrera Sport xxr wheels and boy do I love these wheels. Next (here comes the good stuff) I did the Fab Speed Cold air intake, then Super Sprint headers and Fab Speed Cats coupled with the PSE I originally had with the car. Let me tell you it really woke the car up and the sound is down right intoxicating. It goes in next week for tuning on the dyno and ECU upgrade I'll keep you posted on how that goes.

    Re: Let the Modifications begin....

I love the XXR wheels. You're going to end up with a killer ride!

    Re: Let the Modifications begin....

Great job! I'd love to hear the dyno numbers before and after, and a good comparison writeup on the changes of feel and all that. Congrats!

    Re: Let the Modifications begin....

Love those wheels, yes we all have the lobster claws going on

    Re: Let the Modifications begin....

7 months and only 2K miles?

I know, I know I should drive it more, now that summer is here I'll drive it more frequently. All I know is every time I jump into her I have a grin from ear to ear.

Why don't you drive it more? I don't get it. Plus, it's a 4s so it's good to go during winter time. You haven't even finished the break-in in 7 months.

    Re: Let the Modifications begin....

A remap is exactly what I'm contemplating. I really would like to hear what your experiences are once it's done and of course as blakt out says I would also like to know what the b4 and after numbers are.

What have you been quoted as the expected torque/bhp increases will be?

    Re: Let the Modifications begin....

Sadly, so many 911 drivers today don't have the time to drive their cars. I put 3200 miles on mine in about 20 days,--would be in it now if it we're still in Germany, and I'm here in the STATES! (Ditto on the XRR rims,--great!)

    Re: Let the Modifications begin....

I have had my 997S for about 3 months and I've already put it well over 5,000 miles. I wanted to get to this point before I started modifying, so I got there quickly! Now, I've been without my car for 3 weeks of those 3 months waiting to get it back from the shop. Can't wait! One thing I did was the GIAC chip tuning. I can relay to you all how it does in general, but it is specificly tuned for all the other mods too. So I basically am useless there to the vast majority of you other than to tell you if it keeps popping codes or something. We'll see! Supposed to pick her up from the body shop on Tuesday and it will all be done.

Looks great!! Did you have to use the 17mm spacers with the rear wheels? Any problems mating up the Fabspeed cats with the PSE? AWE says their cats do not mate up. Thanks.

I did use 18mm spacers in back and 3mm up front. As far as I know the Fabspeed Cats fit with PSE with no problem, I think thats why the shop used them.
