    An incident in Hong Kong

Today, a "foreign" Porsche technician was moving a "Blue" porsche car (model unknown) on the 3rd floor of Porsche center Hong Kong in Cheung Sha Wan. He accidentally stepped on the gas, and the car went straight for the car lift. It blew open the lift door and fell down 2 stories in the lift shaft onto the lift which was on the 1st floor. More than 10 firemen arrived to rescue the technician! :

I wonder whose car is this?

Re: An incident in Hong Kong

It was a German engineer. One of my colleagues attended to him in ER.

I am not sure what happened at the Porsche Centre, but in a RHD 996 (and also 964 and 993 for that matter), it is easy to mistake the accelerator as the brake pedal, since the former is centrally located.

Re: An incident in Hong Kong

How bad were his injuries ........ did all of the airbags deploy?

Re: An incident in Hong Kong

The car is a 996 C4. The airbags did deploy. The engineer, Leucht, got trapped and cannot move. He did not suffered any serious injuries.

    more picts

Re: An incident in Hong Kong

Just a light scratch. I am sure they can buff it out

Re: An incident in Hong Kong

Let's remember, folks. These are high-powered sports cars and they can be very dangerous to drive.

In all seriousness, though, hope the poor guy didn't hurt anything more than his image.

Re: An incident in Hong Kong

Thank god he is fine but I really feel sorry for him , I wonder what he felt when that happend!?

After his boss screamed down the elevator shaft.."YOUR FIRED" He probably said..."Man if had known it was going to cost me my job, I would have taken the CGT instead ( in mandarine or cantoneseof course

Didn't someone say the guy is from Germany not familiar with the RHD car?

Re: An incident in Hong Kong

I wish Herr Leucht a speedy recovery.

He will "shine" forever as the first man to drive a Porsche down a elevator shaft. Even Jackie Chan hasnt tried that stunt.

Hopefully better times ahead for him.

Re: An incident in Hong Kong

Initiald.com thanks for sharing this interesting Story. poor tech and do wonder if you do get a NEW car for free??

Re: An incident in Hong Kong

    ouch... nasty story..

Re: An incident in Hong Kong

Man, poor guy!!! Hope nothing happened to him....

Re: An incident in Hong Kong

I wonder if they will just write the car off or try to repair it. No mater what, the re-sale value of that car is zero. HK is a small town so everyone will know that car is the one that went down a lift well. Perhaps they should ship it to Stuttgatt to put in the new museum!

Re: An incident in Hong Kong

Maybe they should ship the elevator together. It makes the car more significant that way.

Re: An incident in Hong Kong

JEBSEN's, the dealership's reputation is definitely on the line. As most Hong Kong ers knew, Herr Lecht already crashed another 997 Carrera S hard top just about a month ago. Something eerie is going on over there I heard but I am sure the poor owner may be a happy camper now... since he probably wanted to upgrade his 996 to 997 anyway and this bizarre accident definitely hasten things up for free. Jebsen is at fault and I don't think it will flinch at all even for putting in the 997 TT for the guy just to appease him and the public and all Porsche owners.
