    Advice needed C4S/C4Scab/GT3

    Hi everybody. This is my first post. I need some advice from you exprienced 911 owners. I'm going to be ordering a 997 and the car will be driven in Toronto, Canada. I love the idea of track cars, and i don't mind it being bumpy and not practical; hence, the GT3. However, I'm not an experienced RR driver sinve i've never owned a 911 before. I've done several track days and able to control RWD/AWD/MR no problem. I'm guessing RR would be a whole different world. This is going to be my daily driver. IS the TC and RR setup in the GT3 allow the car to be driven on snowy/icy roads? (with winter tires) or is it a "forget it, it's made as a track machine"

    I love the idea of convertible in summer, but i also love the lines of the coupe.

    Need some advice on whether i should get the C4S / cab/ GT3.

    Also, is the PCCB option worth it?

    C4S cab.

    Navitaion for PCM
    Sport Shifter
    Bose Sound system (opinions on this option would be great)
    sport chrono package
    heated seats
    Red seat belts

    hi,

    I ordered almost the same. The smaller sport driving wheel is not to bad and I would order the pse as well.
    pccb is in my opionion no must have. the default brakes are excellent. just testet 2 days again with the 997 turbo.
    rather spend your money to the x51 power kit.
    bose sound is excellent, price is alright for this. but some hifi enthusiasts would prefer something better than bose.

    From what you mentioned I was going to suggest a C4S Cab. You'll get a little of everything w/ it. AWD, Convertible in the nicer months and still enough sport to keep anyone content w/ out having to use a GT3 for everyday including the snow - I wouldn't w/ the GT3.

    I'd recommend the adaptive sport seats. It looks like you want to keep the option's to a minimum so if there was only 1 option I could recommend to you the adaptive sport seats would be it. Besides all the comfort and adjustment features in a cab they look incredible because of the seat backs and the shoulder bolster support. After the seats I'd rec. the PSE and then full leather and the thicker steering wheel (XPA). I wouldn't put red belts in the car I think it's too distracting. imho there's no craftmenship in a seat belt it's a safety device making it stand out vs. the rest of the interior doesn't do it for me but that's just a personal opinion. I'd take that $500 and add Porsche crests to adaptive sport seats instead (or use it for the XPA) which look really nice in a cab.

    The bose in my cab is great. It's worth the additional $ imo. One thing however is that in all cab's that get bose the woofer is mounted attached to the center consule by the passenger's feet. For me it's absolutely no big deal but something you might be interested to hear. It slightly changes the passenger footwell compartment so the mat on that side is slightly different than a coupe where the woofer gets mounted in a speaker box behind the rear seats.

    ps: RE: "PCCB's"- My next Porsche will hace PCCB's, hate the steel brakes.

    Hi,

    If you intend to track the car on a more or less regulary basis I would go for a coupé in place of a cab.

    Anyway I wouldn't go for the GT3 as daly use and possibly snow.

    A C4S (or maybe C2S) would be the best compromise even if I find te cab very lovely ...

    GT3 for Toronto!!! no way... get the C4S with the X51 package... although it will probably cost more than a GT3... but you'll feel safer in winters, especially that you can put snow tires on it... and you'll have a blast in summer with the top down... given it's your daily driver, it's a no-brainer :-)

    Thanks for all the inputs! I've just placed myself on the GT3 waitlist. No price/Spec info out yet here in Canada; however, dealer confirmed that i can transfer the deposit to another model if i decide to change when the first car arrives. Saw the 997 turbo today, fantastic car! might go for that if GT3 is too impossible. What if I have a boxster 987 with winter tires to drive in winter? would that work? lol

    Sure your boxster will work in the winter. Whatever car you end up with I am sure you will be happy.

    Nix the Boxster

    I would:

    Order a 997TT Cab, which I'm guessing will be available next Spring.

    In the meantime buy a used 996 C4 to run around in until the Cab arrives.
