"is"? it's no longer in production nick!
this is the very first time i have heard anyone state that pdk was critical to the success of the cgt.
i think you would have a hard time finding someone to agree with you on this point.
    i sure don't!

Had they waited to perfect it more people would have been attracted to the car.
LOL! they havent brought pdk out yet nick!?!?
possibly more inexperienced drivers would have been attracted to the car.
is that what you were hoping for?
i don't think it would have attracted too many more experienced drivers

    That is not in dispute.
    in your mind!

Look at the 997TT and the issue of Tip vs. manual. Porsche claims the Tip is faster.
which is the ONLY reason some people chose tip over manual

The CGt has been called tail happy. I have not gone that far but in my view the car should only be driven only by accomplished drivers.
LOL! you have consistently been the most critical person in the WORLD when it comes to the cgt!

Icon, my comments are support by the lack of buyer's of new CGT's especially at MSRP or for that matter 10-15% below MSRP. As for used CGT's, the day is near when they will be sold for below $300,000. The market speaks volumes.
the market speaks of over production, NOT product quality!
the cgt is considered hands down the best supercar for the money!
even if you had to pay OVER retail!

You have constantly stated you are in a market for a CGT. When are you going to buy one? When the price gets as low as your Porsche cab? There are a ton of them for sale. As Nike says; JUST DO IT!

this is about the third time you have made a statement like this.
it's nothing but a transparent, lame attempt to embarass me.
which car and when i buy it is not your concern.

Re: CGT replacment 950 hp and hit a top speed of 254 mph

Nick, I am more concerned about cell phone users than CGT drivers. This week I was almost hit three times by cell phone talking women drivers.

So far I have not had a close call with a CGT driver!

And I do not think that I will ever encounter a female CGT
driver talking on a cell phone and changeing lanes abruptly
or steering into my parked car because the CGT has a fast steering rack ratio - and no, this is not a excuse for a rack joke~!

Re: CGT replacment 950 hp and hit a top speed of 254 mph

No Jeff I am not trying to embarrass you but to get you off your high horse and do something. If you love the car so much and have the willingness to buy, why in the hell don't you? The price is right. What are you waiting for?

    JUST DO IT!

Re: CGT replacment 950 hp and hit a top speed of 254 mph

Jim I couldn't agree more. I would like to see this country ban cell phone use while driving a car just as they do in England.

i don't know if she talks on the cell phone but here is a female cgt driver!

Re: CGT replacment 950 hp and hit a top speed of 254 mph

Im not sure if the cell phone issue is that simple!

Obviously those people have issues with driver attention, so if not the cell phone, then mascara or just day dreaming.

Overall, driving quality has been declining in the US since 1980 imho. There is no sense of motoring civility anymore.

Re: CGT replacment 950 hp and hit a top speed of 254 mph

the CGT is one of the best cars ever produced, surpassing all F cars ever made to many. I think this is why nberry is so negative about it. All his comments dont make sense when looking and knowing about Porsches image. Porsche is a TRUE sport car manufacturer.. having said this how can one bash the car for being too hard to drive for the average driver.. who cares? people have brains.. if they die they die be it in a ford focus or a CGT. Terrible accidents happen in true sports cars and its horrible about ben but that could have happened in any oher super car. the 550 Spyder was stopped because some dude killed himself... the 550 got so much negativity that Porsche stopped it eventually.

Regarding, the point of this threat, I can that Porsche will once again improve the CGT by replacing it with a better future model. Its called evolution, and others should really it.

You said I was making critical errors.

    In your dreams

    Quote:
As far as Hurley telling several times regarding steering input, I accept your interpretation that it is because he did not think you heard him. However, an accomplished driver like yourself was making the error (if not he would not have told you several times). Now consider what is happening everyday by very much less accomplished drivers of the CGT on our public roads and streets.

Was I actually making those errors, or was I being prophylactically cautioned against making those errors?

    Were you there?

Crash, If I had one car to track in competition it would be the CGT. However, it is not a car for the average or above average driver. What I wrote and believe are very consistent.

Mike, I accept your explanation. However reasonable people would tend to think that if an instructor is barking the same cautionary instructions at a student several times, they would think the student is doing something wrong.

Of course, what do I know.

Nick, I do get what you are saying in this thread, but exactly the same thing applies to the Enzo (except that it's slower ). It also applies to the Ford GT, the Zonda and any other high-powered vehicle available. When will you accept that people should take responsibility for their choices and actions? I don't expect any car to be safe during extreme manoeuvres and you, as a sports car driver, should realize that more than anyone. Sue Ferrari for making a dangerous car, and you can then talk all you want about the CGT's dangerous tendencies (the percentage of Enzos, that have been crashed, is huge, compared to the number of CGTs - heck, the absolute number is higher, as well).

Re: CGT replacment 950 hp and hit a top speed of 254 mph

This is a very intertaining thread

Re: CGT replacment 950 hp and hit a top speed of 254 mph

Ah, yes, Nick versus Mike (speaking for all of us, of course ), but especially RC's (earlier in the thread) first comment that a GT1 is still rumoured: "...it won't be much faster than the Carrera GT...."

I take that to mean that it will still be at least a little bit faster.
