My first 911 Turbo (996) had 420 hp. The 991.2 GTS has 450 hp. Nothing more to say...the Carrera has really reached an amazing level of perfection and it sounds better than any stock 911 Turbo.
It is a 911 Turbo. Just saying.
Engine is completely different, also the 911 Turbo uses VTG chargers but these are just semantics, right?!

There's been quite a lot of positive comment on the car in the UK. Its materially better than other earlier versions of the 991.2 I tried. There's virtually no lag. It revs similar to a NA and quite unlike the 997 turbo I had. I've got an allocation for the GT3.2 and can't wait to see how they've improved that bearing in mind what they've done with the GTS

I may get the chance to drive one in May, maybe I'm going to post a short review, especially compared to my 991.1 GTS and the 991.2 CS. 😎
So far, even the fantastic V8 Biturbo in the 488 has a turbo lag (even if some reviewers claim it has none) and I'd be surprised if the 991.2 GTS is better than the VTG charger equipped 911 Turbo in that regard but there is a first time for everything, right?!

I test drove a 718S/991.2S and Turbo (not S) on the same day 9 months ago and would agree that the Turbo had the better throttle response. My (/others) point is how far the 991.2 has come in this GTS. The added benefit for me was 2WD and standard body. Porsche has really upped their game for a standard wish car
I tried the 488 too...cant wait for a Rennteamer to post a comparative review of the 720S!

I am so curious if the 720S can live up to it's expectations. With 45 hp more than the 675 LT and lots of new stuff, this is going to be very interesting. The 720S could be faster than the factory claims.

Drove the new GTS - and I was truly impressed - very fast car , so usable and don't know hat they did compared to the S but the Sound of it was miles better than the Gen 2 "normal" S car. With this car nobody needs a a TTS + cannot understand of why the real Turbo sounds so muted compared to this.

As a family father I need to think of the risks with driving such a fast and furious machine as the GT4. Plus the GTS has ISOFIX in the rear seats

The 992 GT3 will have to go Turbo to keep up. I don't think the 992 GT3 (if non-turbo) will sell nearly as well if both the 992 CS and 992 GTS are much faster on both road and track.
Will the "Pure Driving Experience" of an NA 992 GT3 be enough of a selling point if it is among the slowest 992 model available ??

I think he was referring a the non-PSE equipped car. My dealer claims the 991.2 GTS sounds better than the 991.2 Carrera S with PSE but my P source told me there is no difference in PSE setup, so... 
Maybe they are using some sort of (additional?) sound symposer, I haven't checked on the tech yet.

Well...people buy the manual GT3, so performance alone doesn't seem to matter.
Also, turbo charged sports cars are usually more difficult to "handle" at certain driving conditions (no matter what people claim...), so n/a cars will have their place in the Porsche universe as long as they offer an emotional experience.
On the other hand, if Porsche succeeds eliminating the turbo lag and offers a nice sound as well...

However, that could explain the 'better' sound experience from the inside.
Has someone more info on that?
A sound symposer (or an improved version of it) seems to be more likely...

It seems the GTS.2 has different turbo chargers vs. the Carrera S and different turbo chargers can already change the exhaust sound, so...maybe...

I understand you very well. I'm not tempted on any 911 right now. It just doesn't give me any itch when seeing or hearing one. As I like the R8 sound, ride and performance, I'm still not that a fan of it looks. Nevertheless - I understand you RC and would take an R8 over an 991 without a doubt. For me - I probably would put the AMG GT-C / AMG GT-R on top of the list.
