Squeaking PCCB

Any other here on the forum with PCCB who have experienced squeaking pccb-brakes? Mine are really annoying at the moment and I wonder if there are any issues with my brakes

I had my car on first service last week and told my dealer about this... They say that it's normal but I honestly can't beleive that this is the truth... First generation PCCB had a lot of issues where squeaky sounds was one of them... I however thought that this was eliminated on the second generation?

My dealer told me to clean the ceramic discs with high-pressure water and that a potential cause for creating the squeaks were dust on the rotors...

Apart from the irritating squeaks the brakes are fine...

Anyone here with similar experience or are my breaks an exception from normal??

Are you doing a lot of stop/start city driving? That is usually the main cause, a longer run with firm decellerations should solve the issue.

Yes, I have/had the same issue with my PCCB's. I pretty much got the same response from the service manager at the Porsche dealership here in Newport Beach.

The problem isn't always there. I'd say about 1% of the time, I hear the squeaks. It's pretty annoying, I admit.

crayphile is spot-on. You need to brake more aggressively and the squeaking will go away. Find an empty road, after driving for a little while to heat the up the brakes, and when the conditions allow, do a few brake stops and hopefully it'll be cured.

Yes, I'm actually doing a lot of start/stop and city-driving at the moment, but I take the car for longer drives as well... But it's not that often when I deaccelerate and breake extremely firm... like pushing the breakpeadal with full action from e.g. 130km/h -> 0 km/h... But of course this happen as well..
I will go out and take a drive and do some firm break-ins and see if this will at least eliminate it temporarily...

Last Friday after a very spirited 100mi trip my standard brakes started squeaking.

In the car again today and no sign of the squeak. Weird.

Promise not to laugh?

Just a guess on my part but maybe worth a try: put it in reverse and drive with the brakes on for a little bit.

Constant on? pump them?

be careful though.

I have 1,800 miles all city driving with zero brake squeaks so far on the PCCB's ('06 C4S Coupe).

I also had a '05 C2S Cab w/ PCCB's and never heard any noises after 3K miles.

I'll let everyone know if/when I do.

Good news regarding my squeaky brakes!!

Today when I washed the car i used the high-pressure water and cleaned both the calipers and rotors with the water... When I have driven the entire day today all squeaks are absolutely GONE

.. not even a small tiny squeak!
So, the cure was to clean the rotors and calipers from dust.. I've washed my car many times, but not cleaning the caliper and rotor this thourougly...

So if someone else experience squeaky pccb-brakes, this is for sure the cure, and a very cheap one

My PCCBs are orking just fine here in Switzerland,--but I brake aggtressively.

Are locals allowed to drive their cars in Zermatt? Or isn't it prohibited anymore to drive your car in the village?

I did have some PCCB noise one day. Sounded like a dragging pad. Terrible sound! Sound is like an out-of-round rotor type noise. New C2S, only 1600 miles.

One thought from all these noises was the fact that small stones can get stuck in a pad.SInce these are so close to the rotor, it may stay fir awhile. Our dealer had one like that and when they put the car in reverse, the pebble was gone. No damage to rotor.

Every now and then I'll get the "out-of-round" noise. So far, unknown why.
