Every other EU car maker that offers factory delivery to US customers discounts the cars price and often throws in airfare..and shipping home is free also.
Porsche's tourist delivery program is a shameless consumer ripoff.

That's a rip-off. It costs about Euro 450 for us Europeans. Perhaps Phil's friend Alonso could call us what this vaseline-consuming move is called.

Why do young people always jump to conclusions immediately? It is NOT a rip-off and only one thing comes to my mind: insurance. Try to get insurance for a Porsche in Europe as an American or any non-European and you'll have the surprise of your life, almost impossible.
The reason is simple: there have been lots of accidents/incidents with tourist delivery cars in the past and insurance cost has gone up rocket high.
And of course logistics costs money too...scheduling of getting the car to the right spot at the right time, arrangements, shipping the car back to the US afterwards, taking care of registration and temporary license plates, etc.
So PLEASE: european delivery has NOTHING to do with tourist delivery, NOTHING, not even close.

Quote:it mist be the insurance on the Turbo as the delivery is $2000.00 more for it than the 997C4 all of the other cost would be the same for both cars .
