    I don't want to sound like a chauvinist again but I wouldn't buy one either because I think the new Mini is a woman's car.
    We have three Mini (two Cooper S) ownerships among our friends and all three are women. The Cab even looks more "feminine", I think that women are the target audience for this little thing. But what is actually very bad: the quality. It seems that a lot of people have problems with the Mini, I wouldn't have expected that from BMW.

    Initially the Mini did have quality problems but recently they have improved it enomously. It is very similar situation to the quality issues the early 996's had.

    BTW, my wife just bought one and loves it. So much so she will not allow me to drive it. I am relegated to the Cayenne and the 360 Spider.

    That's rather funny Nick. I was able to drive one in a canyon and it is rather capable (relative to my expectations). The car garners a few thumbs-up. Do you mind contacting me through my e-mail?     Oh you poor guy!!!
    I drove a Cooper S and loved. Very nimble, probably as good as it gets in front wheel drive.
    Girly yes, but fun!

    Agree 100%, lot of fun, and next week i will install on my S the JCW kit with 200 hp...I drove one few days ago and it is really a nice toy....from 2000rpm the power comes out very smooth and fluid

    Hired one in the UK for 10 days a few months ago and really hated it. Definitely wouldn't buy one. My wife hated it too.
    She wanted to hire an SL500 Mercedes or whatever they are
    (I'm not a big fan of Mercedes)

    Shame about the world cup, almost felt sorry for Gregan.
    Weird how Wilkinson has not done anything ever since. He's not even playing the 6 nations!!! Drugs if you ask me, but I'm not sure, so...
    I mean look at Tindall! He's so huge now!!!
    Anyway, getting OT. One last thing, I love Larkham and John Eales was the best!
    SL500 is a great car..........For cruising.

    Yes, the World Cup was very unsatisfactory. At least we beat the Kiwis, I spend a lot of time in NZ, and there is always the cricket.

    I have never been much for cruising cars. Can't abide automatic transmissions. Best hire car I had was a 996 from Avis for a weekend in Germany a few years ago. Black, black interior and 6 speed trans. Now that was enjoyable.
