The problem is that the current picture gives a pretty good hint on WHO took it. And this isn't acceptable due to understandable reasons. I guess we just have to find another way...and another picture.

What was said lately: Patience is a virtue...

    Er, RC, hurry up! Quick!!!

Re: 360 Modena Successor Update - a little Enzo!

I forgot to mention it: there really is a rumor that Ferrari works on a cheaper Ferrari model in the 85000 Euro range.
I don't have any confirmation but it would be a good idea to satisfy the "masses" too. Porsche did it and they had a great success.

Re: 360 Modena Successor Update - a little Enzo!

I think that the effect on exclusivenes would be marginal. True car people know that the Boxter is in another league out of the 911, just as they will (I hope) with a proposed "Small Ferrari".

I really don't know, if that is the right way...

Re: 360 Modena Successor Update - a little Enzo!

So RC arethere any other pics, or do I have to start to cry, couldn't you like play with the pic and make it so it couldn't be recognised were it came from a little photoshop or something

I agree. But I see however a problem: I know a lot of people who could afford a Ferrari but went for a Porsche, Mercedes or even a BMW instead. In Germany and probably in other countries too, owning a Ferrari (no matter it is is a used one for somehow cheap money or the Enzo) "brands" the owner with the words VERY RICH on his forehead. A lot of people don't like it and prefer a more subtle way of enjoying themselves. My US friends shouldn't take it personal what I say now but I think an entry level Ferrari would mostly have a huge success in the US and this is why I also think that the design will be adapted to US customer "taste".

(I want a Ferrari with classical Italian design - please don't ask me to describe this )

Isn't Maserati the affordable Ferrari ? Italian but JAG looking and low key

Re: 360 Modena Successor Update - a little Enzo!

    Let me say 2 things.

In a article from a Portuguese magazine (not car magazine)that i read about 2 or 3 weeks ago, these mag mde a visit to modena.

They talked how the litle "horse" symbol was a gift from a family whose relative was a heroe in the world war (dont remeber if it was 1 or 2) and that he used the symbol on his plain, etc, etc...

Well, Ferrari CEO said that you will never see a Ferrari entry model.

Quite interesting is that he said Ferrari doesnt compete with Porsche, Maserati does and if there's someone who'll introduce a model to compete with boxster, it would be Maseratti, never Ferrari.

The 2nd thing is this.RC, if the new modena sucessor will have enzo traces. What car is that that we was in some boards saying that it was the modena sucessor (the one will silver paint)?

    Maybe a last minute facelift???

    1. LM would be pretty dumb if he would unveil future plans of Ferrari. I guess he doesn't even talk to his hairdresser about it, not to speak about a reporter. Since Fiat is in financial trouble, Ferrari has to stay on their own feet. The F1 engagement isn't cheap and Ferrari isn't a mass manufacturer. Development costs a lot of money, production too. They have to find a source to earn more money and they started it in a clever way with Maserati. I think an entry level model below the Modena successor is just a question of time...if Ferrari wants to survive.

    2. Ferrari, their engineers and apparently some dealers weren't pleased with the Modena successor prototype, especially since it was inferior in many ways to the Gallardo. This is why a lot of dates have been postponed and this also explains the decision of building a new model, a "little Enzo".
Don't think of it as a Enzo copy, it has Enzo elements in the front and rear but it is looks different of course. Actually a very interesting combo, especially since I never really liked the feminine look of the Modena.

I guess we just have to wait and see what the future brings.

Re: 360 Modena Successor Update - a little Enzo!

Well, in these case i think it's very unlikely that we see the modena sucessor these year.Maybe spy shots.

Since it will be a new model i expect to see several tech used in the 360 modena to be greatly enhanced and maybe it will receive some technology used in the enzo.

We'll have to wait and see....

Re: 360 Modena Successor Update - a little Enzo!

About Maserati and its position as the "affordable ferrari". I don't think that Maserati carrys annywhere near the prestige of Ferrari. When you see a Ferrari, even if youre not a "car guy" you know instantly "thats a Ferrari". Furthermore, even though car people know that Maserati and Ferrari are essentially the same company, the people on the street don't nesscearly, and lets face it, the reason alot of people buy Ferraris is for the recognition. As I recall, Ferrari did once make an "affordable Ferrari", the Mondial. I'm not certain, but I believe that that car was relatively successful.

Re: 360 Modena Successor Update - a little Enzo!

You're darn right.Ferrari is probabbly one the most known Brands of all times. What's bigger "Coka Cola?"

Ferrari is so prestigious that these guys dont spend a cent in tv adverstisement (as far i know).

Most people in the world know a car name and its model but that's all.

For instance, here in S.Miguel, Azores. There's an S-Type (i think 2), the car has great looks but that's about it.You enter the car and you dont feel the luxury that Sir Williams Loys would be proud of.But everybody here would say "Man, that car is fantastic, i bet my last buck (Euro) that compared with that a BMW 5 series sucks"

I'm afraid to say the SType Sucks not BMW.

Most people don't even know that Jaguar belongs to Ford, or Volvo or Aston Martin and i'm taking Jaguar just as an example.

And yes, most people buy a Ferrari for recognition or because they have money and like the design.I guess many dont know what the car can do.The only thing that matters is bhp and being red.

A single man with a Ferrari means lots of chicks.

Hum, i dont know if mondial was an affordable Ferrari and i'm saying these because here in Portugal (the man land) there are lots of Mondials for sale and most of them have 80 000 price tag.Maybe it's because it's sold here.

By the way, do you know how much costs a 996 turbo here?162 000 euros and no extras, just the base car. Do you know how much is the minimal and the medium salary here in Portugal.380 euros minimal (360 dollars) and medium is arround 800 euros (780 dollars).

To buy a luxury car in Portugal, most people have to sell the house, the wife, the kids and the dog.

Wish i was born in the States.

Re: 360 Modena Successor Update - a little Enzo!

    Hi RC,

Could you get any further information on the new Dino.

Would it be a six or an eight cylinder modell?

I would really look forward to it, but think there is also another reason for a smaller Ferrari. If with next generation Modena the smallest Ferrari available will have 4.2 liters it won't be that agile the former eight cylinder modells used to be.
So a bit smaller car with less weight could be incredible agile.

I would take the next plane to my favourite dealer to sign a contract.

    Greetings to all rennteamers!

    Floren..

How can I get information on something I even don't know Ferrari will build?
I said the entry-level Ferrari is just a rumor which has been discussed by various sources. It makes sense but I don't have more on this rumor and our sources don't know anything either.

    Some more info...

I was told not to disclose, but I' m not good at keeping secrets...
I was told by an official source that we will definetely see the Modena replacement before the end of the year!
Actually the first customer deliveries will be before 2005, although very few cars...
    I just can't wait!

    Luigi,
I take it one of those customers is you, right

    Re: Some more info...

    Hi Luigi,

did you already took delivery of your Challenge Stradale?

    Best, Floren.

Re: 360 Modena Successor Update - a little Enzo!

    Alright. Got you RC

Was just thinking you started the same "safe-your-source" policy than di Montezemolo does all the time.

But any kind of further info on the Dino would be highly appreciated.

    Best whishes, Floren

    Re: Some more info...

    @ Ron:

@Floren: I canceled my order for the Challenge stradale when I went to Geneva and was told that it wouldn't be available with the 6 spd. gearbox. The F1 system just doesn't do it for me.I'm not complaining though, since from december a fantastic GT3 RS is in the stable, and has already been worked at various trackdays.Ciao

LOL, ever heard of a little thing called Formula One??? Billions of dollars and it hits TV sets in practically every country with electricity!

Re: 360 Modena Successor Update - a little Enzo!

You're quite right--Ferrari, even in America, has an image of extravagance, but I can't image someone buying a BMW or Mercedes instead. They are very different cars.
