    996 Turbo ( 483 HP )

    What I would like to have is a 996 Turbo with the following option.

    GT2 Powerkit 483 HP

    Is it possible or not?

    Should be easily possible to adapt the GT2 motronic engine mapping to a 996 Turbo with Powerkit. What does NOT work is taking the GT2 motronic and use it on a 996 Turbo with Powerkit because the GT2 doesn't have PSM and 4WD.

    What a lot of people don't know: a powerkit retrofit IS possible on the 996 Turbo. Exclusive department told me a while ago that they can do it but it costs a lot of money.
    You need two new turbo chargers, two new intercoolers, an exhaust system, a new motronic AND (now here's the catch ) a new gearbox(!). Not a cheap mod.

    There are so many companies doing tuning for the 996 TT's it shouldn't be a problem, you could try techart, RUF, Gemballa, rs-tuning, or ttp.

    Why stop at 483bhp, when you can have 800 ?

    First of all I would never let a tuner company touch my car.
    A new gearbox as well!!
    Well that`s that!
    No turbo for me.
    Any info about a possible retrofit of the upcoming powerkit for the Cayenne Turbo (500 hp and 700 Nm )?

    What will a 996 with 483bhp do that a Carrera GT can't?

    Nothing.
    But it doesn`t hurt to have a Turbo as well.

    I was gonna say RUF R-turbo as well, with 550bhp their car will do 0-190mph in 29 seconds! Thats SLR quick! And it also handles well, so that argument about only being good in a straight line doesn't apply!

    I have it on video going from 0-190mph, does anyone at rennteam.com want to host it for dl?

    about 2.65mb..

    Would the mod be possible on a turbo cab? I am about to order a turbo cab and would be interested in the modifications. How much would they end up costing?

    I don't see any problem with the Turbo Cab. I hope you ordered X50, otherwise it'll be a costly thing to do.
    And of course: you loose your warranty for the engine, drivetrain, etc..

    As always...only rumors, no news.
    Here's the rumor: 996 Turbo S, 460 HP, X73, modified Aerokit Turbo, PCCB. Again...just a rumor.

    Official info is NO. Apparently there is more to it than just swapping the motronic, I got the information that the MY 2004 motronic is not really compatible with MY 2003 cars.
    I'll have more information on this issue in a few days because I already asked the question.

    Some changes were made to mechanical engine components when the 04 power boost was introduced. You can take it as read that Porsche would not go to that expense if they had been confident that the "old" engine could have handled the added power.
