    Performante or updated SV

I rather think updated SV with Performante active aero. 760 or 770 hp?
Should be interesting because such a car could potentially break their Huracan Perfomante's Nordschleife "record".

I just remembered.  A while ago, someone love at LP said that during either 2018 or 2019, lambo would be bringing out a aventador GTR or aventador LM with around 800hp as their show car.  So maybe this is that?

    Re: Aventador and SV

Lambo loves their Aventador special editions (if you can call it that...) but a facelifted SV would also fit the profile.

And I had been saying the R is a parts bin special beta car for a while...........

Its just hard to see where it sits within the variants now the gen2 GT3 is available in manual. Porsche is milking the 991 last runs big time but its over the top now imo....Smiley.......

Consider it the same category as the Sports Classic......

But at least it contribute a manual gearbox to the GT3.

Not yet. It is waiting for parts from Porsche Classic.

When my mechanic open up the car for service, we realized the car was in fantastically original condition, so I am using original Porsche parts to finish up the last bit of restoration.

To be fair, at MSRP it is not that much overpriced...............

My R was about 15k CAD above what I had paid for my GT3RS. About 7k of that was from the black color which is STANDARD PORSCHE NON METALLIC BLACK! Another 3k or so was for the 3M stripes and graphics, plus another 6k for the painted wheels.

So if I skipped all those custom items my R would have been 1k cheaper than my RS.

    Re: Aventador and SV

Well, it's technically under-priced considering the premiums people will pay for it.

    Re: Aventador and SV

Most cars are overpriced in CAD anyway.

Got this from TeamSpeed. Lets see how it pans out.

    2016.06.26 you WROTE:
    * 800 HP - and more torque.
    * Lamborghini's new "Doppia Frizione" - Dual Clutch gearbox.
    * Lamborghini Infotainment System, with TFT virtual cockpit display like in the Huracán.
    * ANIMA (Adaptive Network Intelligent Management).
    * Lamborghini Piattaforma Inerziale (LPI)
    * "LDS - Lamborghini Dynamic Steering"

For the Aventador S - LP 740-4 it is like my friend Hong-Gi says: 740 ps.

    For the Aventador GT/GT-R - LP 800-4: 800 ps.

The new Doppia Frizione is probably based on a Porsche unit, which is only good news.  This transmission, then, may find its way into some of the Audi products, most notably, the larger RS models.  The Lamborghini Piattaforma Inerziale, coupled with ANIMA, are essential components for the Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva, or ALA system found on the Performante.  This could really make the big Lamborghini handle to match its aggressive looks.  It is a great time to be an automobile enthusiast!

The DCT in the Huracan has nothing to do with Porsche, it is actually a system built by Graziano Oerlikon, McLaren and other companies use this as well. Not Porsche!!! I assume that Lamborghini uses the same manufacturer for the Aventador because Graziano Oerlikon is specialized on limited production units for high performance cars.

Not even the PDK-S is as fast as the DCT in the Huracan, just saying. Smiley

I agree. Why would they offer DCT in a special ed model but not in the facelift?!

I rather think that DCT will make it's appearance in the next generation where the V12 will be combined with some sort of hybrid. Makes much more sense since it requires a lot of adaptation development work.

Never wrote the transmissions are the same.  Instead, wrote that Porsche has the new PDK box used in the Panamera that could be "recased" for use in the Aventador.   The eight speed Porsche box can be readily adapted to the Urus as well.

Only the next generation will share tech between the brands. Current Aventador platform has nothing to do with Porsche.

Never stated that the current model shares components with Porsche; however, it doesn't mean that this will continue, even with the current model as updates, i.e., new variants, are added.

Porsche is, as far as I know, already involved with development of sportscars in the VW Group (this includes Lamborghini and Audi, rumors also indicate Bentley (certain models only), not so sure about Bugatti though). There are no shared parts though yet because the platforms aren't compatible. Current Huracan/R8 and Aventador platforms will not be continued with the next generation.

The weight isn't really the problem...visibility is, the interior room is also quite cramped (if you are a "big" guy) and the worst thing on this car is actually the transmission and there is no chance of getting a tranny similar to the Huracan on this model, only with the next generation I'm afraid.

A friend of mine who owns an Aventador (actually the only one here in my town, I posted a photo once with my son next to it) says that the Aventador is a connoisseur's driver car but not a car to achieve maximum performance in it. He is right. The Aventador may not be as fast as a McLaren 720S but it is one of the most beautiful sportscars ever built and a treat to drive if you enjoy the drive itself.

Last month I went to a track with our Lamborghini club . The president if the club came with two Aventador SV and one Huracan . He also said the Aventador is not made for doing fast laps . It was not about the 700 HP . That he owned this car for other reasons .
