Jim, that is indeed a very interesting way of thinking!
I am not convinced yet - the reports I have seen so far recall it to be a very fast, even good handling car. It definately lacks the passion for me - I would get frustrated everytime I'd drive or sit in this. The only think that'd make me tempting is the speed but it wouldn't make me wake up sweating in the middle of the night.
The fact that JC compares the Z06 to the Maranello - and recalls them both looking the same - just makes me doubt his sanity!

Your right, he is crazy. He should have compared it to the Enzo!
In getting into a Z06, I would think about the several recent (not 1966) LeMans wins using the same motor and chassis...and would be awe inspired about such an accomplishment in MODERN times. To think MY car has beaten the BEST the world has to offer over and over
My heart would pound with excitment at the thought that much of the technology on my street car is derived from the world dominating race program.
Like an Italian (Ferrari), German (Porsche) or Brit (Aston Martin), who feels national pride, thinking about the legends they have created. Pride that parallels or surpases olympic achievment...as an American I am equally as proud of the legend that Corvette has and is creating within the Global Racing community. We had a long hard battle with many bruises and broken bones through the years, but for the same reason an Italian will NEVER root for a English football (soccer) team, I will always stand behind Corvette. It's not about money, it's about rolling up your sleeves and getting in the game.

I predict little support for that viewpoint from the super beetle crowd.
But I say,
Can't wait the the SS Corvette, and all the excuses to come from the competition.
