I get the feeling that Mercedes has been hiding their true pace throughout, but that seems a pretty extreme move to hinder your own testing to max velocity etc..

Gladstone:Should be very interesting to see how Hamilton and Bottas get along.
Really excited for this season. Sorry, not able to maintain calm.
Since a long time I am seriously interested in F1 although, from a technical point of view, still more interested in WEC racing. Changes in management, changes in rules and regulations, changes in driver lineup. Let´s see if it proves as exciting as expected.

Well, Kimi has been really fast in Barcelona... RB was a bit disappointing, so I'm hoping they have a little bit extra up their sleeve, but I'm afraid that is wishful thinking... Woah, can hardly wait!

Dont want to be a downer here but i cannot get excited about F1 anymore, too many years with the same thing, unless there is a revolution were at least 2-4 teams are actually competitive and have a chance at the title is still a sham, a two driver championship with movie extras filling up the rest of the grid, nothing to do with driver talent and competition, its just about two drivers who are not likely the best in the grid driving under team ruless ans same management for the title. Its a pretend driver race. There is no drivervfactor at all. This year looks no different. I wont be wasting 2 hours of my weekend on that unless that changes.

If this is true than Bernie should be taken away real quickly... what an ass!

Jeannot:I have big hopes for Ferrari!
No more bluff, real racing now :-)
One too has hopes for Ferrari this season; however, with Sergio Marchionne calling the shots for the team, one has less and less hope. FCA managed to get three cars, including the Maserati Ghibli, on Consumer Reports' worse cars list. That's quite the achievement!

Carlos from Spain:I hope so! will keep an eye open and if it happens I will start to tune in, but for now I will be watching motoGP only until it does. Watching F1 is like watching WWE instead of MMA.

- What F1 needs is more overtaking, not less
- Who will benefit most from races tougher on the body, the young and fit ones, or the experienced older guys?
- Why would you feel affronted by a newcomer? The level of insecurity from Bernie's side is stunning...
If that's true, then good grief..
It wouldn't surprise me though - it seems that few from the teams have got behind the changes. intuitively it seems to me that wider cars and a greater aero penalty for following cars will not make it easy to overtake. My money is on a few boring precessional races followed by another scramble to rethink the rules. I hope I am wrong though.
Also a little patronising of Symonds to suggest you need young drivers to attract a young audience: as a teen being captivated by F1 I don't remember giving a toss what age the drivers were. I did enjoy the fantastic drama and racing of the time though.

Sounds like complete and utter BS to me but hey until Bernie confirms that (probably on his dead bed only chance) we just won't know if this is just speculation article or actually the truth.

after the p2, looks like this: mercedes is the fastest car
ferrari0.4/0.5 secs behind...and then the red bulls and williams close.
so from what we can see from this little time....it is like last year..only that the cars are more difficult to drive, a lot spun off the track..so maybe under pressure we will see more mistakes even by the bigs....ham is just alone this year..
so exited to seee...but carlos may be right...same ol situation..... but it is only practice...but it will not be so diferent tomorrow in qualifyng.. my bet
ham,bot,vet,raik,ver,ric
, and alonso with 100 hp less max 10 position....
