. Many CGT owners will be pissed, especially when they're overtaken by one on the Autobahn like they were standing still (I predict 26-28 seconds 0-300 km/h).

I don't own a CGT, but if I did... I know straightline isn't everything, but since the roads here in Europe allow it, it's also a factor.

I don't own a CGT, but if I did... I know straightline isn't everything, but since the roads here in Europe allow it, it's also a factor.
I am so pleased that Porsche is slowly placing the 911 where it belongs
Where is that you say..well on the Royal throne of course..

It won't be as expensive as a 599. A fully loaded GT2 shouldn't cost more than 180.000 EUR (about 30.000 EUR more than a fully loaded Turbo). Still a big price hike, but you get more raw performance for the money (although it will cost them less to produce a GT2 than a Turbo).

To those who read this article: did it say that the GT2 is still based on the 3.6L? If that is the case, we have a good feel for what the Turbo with power kit should start at HP wise...
I can't imagine CGT owners being pissed about anything except the amount of money they spent on the car. That vehicle is a masterwerk all to itself. If raw performance was the ONLY reason for buying it, I think 400-450K could have been better spent at the time they were still in production. Anyone who bought that car most likely did it with more complex reasoning than just raw performance specs alone - and I don't think the GT2 competes with the CGT on all those levels.
Of course you'll never see a CGT in my driveway - you may see a GT2 one day though...

I dont believe the new GT2 will come SO soon..
and i say this for many reasons...
First of all it is TOO EARLY for Porsche to produce the new power kit...
Secondly It is AGAIN TOO EARLY for Porsche to produce the PDK gearbox... (only 3 months after the new tiptronic S 997tt?!)
and 3rdly Porsche has never produced in the past years the GT2 SO SOON... (at least after 1 year time...)
I have talked though with my dealer yet but these are my thoughts from my experience as a porsche owner so many years...
