RC:Btw: Engine is closer to Cup car than to GT3 RS engine...
With all the improvements they made to the engine , it should actually be more then 500 HP . The '' older'' RS engine had already 500 HP . Either they kept some room by restraining air admission or something similar, or this engine is closer to 515 HP and they just say it is 500 in order not to upset too much the R and the RS .
Looking forward to see the difference between RS and GT3 on the track . With the .1 GT3 it had way more difference in reality then on paper .
I am very curious about this Touring Pack . Wonder when it will be made available ? If it is no wing, and back seat , that would make it the best DD of all cars

nberry:What color is that? Guards red or Carmine red? I went to the Europe configurator and they have enough colors for me to choose from which would not necessitate PTS and delay delivery.
The launch color is Carmine, Nick (much richer than Guards without the Orange undertones)

If this car is very successful (as it appears at the moment), do you think a 992 model could continue with this motor or is turbo and/or hybrid the future, exclusively?
If not a GT3, maybe some more "drivers' cars" like 911R?

They list three seat options but I wonder if they will be available in the US.

No, the folding buckets (from 997 GT2) are no longer certified in US. They still offer these in other countries...

Its the same color as my GTS Nick, from experience I recommend it very highly, you will love it, but it needs to go with the black wheels IMO... and with the black alcantara interior and the red accents... just like in the pics, don't think you can get a better looking combo in a GT3 personally

The red stitching in GT cars is guards red, whereas in GTS models, the stitching is carmine red. So if you care about this slight clash with a carmine exterior, better to go with silver stitching.
And of course no matter what, the calipers will be guards red for steel brakes, so you are stuck with that, but it hasn't looked too bad in carmine cars I've seen.

In reality, you won't notice the small difference with Carmine exterior and Guards stitching. In fact, I didn't even see much clash with the Carmine exterior and the Guards brake calipers. I was worried (and even considered PCCB's for the yellow), but in reality it was a non-issue...

When I view the car in Carmine on the European configurator it show the silver wheels which I really like. Black looks great but I think the sliver gives it contrast and a more bling which isn't bad on a Porsche. I certainly would go with interior shown in the pictures.

I had Silver wheels on my Carmine GT4 and liked the combo

I believe Kreso is talking about GT cars in general and not 991.1 GT3
GT2 RS also didn't get the Bose option.

Actually, I was thinking about GT3 models in general.
Btw, PCM with Navi is standard on 991.2 GT3.

As they seems to be on the optimizing phase one could wonder if they can get much more out of this engine in the next GT3.
AP mentioned a while ago that 500hp is enough and that Porsche would concentrate on weight.
Maybe that is the road to go for the GT3/RS?
Surprised to see 500hp after all the talk about 495hp here. Not that it makes a real life difference, but on the paper it sends a strong message.
Even more surprised about the 9000rpm redline. Another strong message.
A "bargain" compared to the 991.1 RS and R. Not even counting the 991.1 GT3 which I assume will take a hit now.

bluelines:Surprised to see 500hp after all the talk about 495hp here.
The HP and Torque ratings are identical to the 911R and GT3 RS. I think it's possible that the new design (with higher redline and less internal friction) make a bit more than these motors (but might not be politically wise to advertise that). I saw an article today (forget which one, been reading them constantly today ) that said the same motor architecture was making 605 hp on the test stand (obviously being spun higher than 10k rpm for race testing). So, there is more to squeeze out, if they are willing to tempt fate with higher redlines on the road cars in the future.
Kobalt - on the weight issue, I think that would be great. Wish they could shrink the chassis a little to help with this - but using advanced materials can help. This is a more reliable path than spinning a 4.0L Flat-6 to 10k rpm
