    Sportauto supertested the mighty Pagani Zonda F!



    Nordschleife: 7.33min 10/10 points
    Hockenheimring: 1.10,8min 10/10 points
    0-100km/h: 3,8s
    0-200km/h: 11,4s
    200-0km/h: 4,4s (12,6m/s2!!)
    0-200-0km/h: 15,8s 10/10 points
    Aerodynamics: front 1kg and rear 25kg downforce 10/10 points
    Transverse acceleration: 1,4g 10/10 points
    Slalom course (36m): 137km/h 10/10 points
    Evasive course (110m): 159km/h 10/10 points
    Wet handling course: 1.34,2min 5/10 points

    Ferrari never gave Sportauto an Enzo for supertesting - I wonder why?

    Beautiful car, definately has the wow and exclusivity factor, but based on numbers it's not that impressive, since the Z06 did the Hockenheim in: 1.11,5, with less power and more weight.

    Eliot, the "new" Lamborghini crest is very funny and it proves a good amount of humor. BUT: I'm not sure it is suitable for kids.

    you'd be surprised at what kids today know, so unless there are 5-year-olds browsing these forums, I don't see a problem. If they are, however, I think this is a great way for them to learn which marques are better than the others

    It shows how amazing the car is!
    7:33 is a top class time that makes the Zonda F the fastest road car on the ring currently on the market.
    Pagani is only a new brand and now qualifies as a true supercar. I look forward to what their next car in less than 2 years will be like. To start from nothing and be up there with car companies over 50 years old is truly amazing, I hope Pagani is here to stay as the maker of the most outrageous cars.

    CGT's time is still the one to beat, even if it is just 1min!

    But the Zonda is clearly an outstandig car, it's good to know that there are still people like Koenigsegg and Pagani out there!

    I am curious who was driving it around the Ring. Von Saurma? If so, he did not let me or Porsche down. He brought it in slower than the CGT time. Hilarious!

    Jim, regarding what Ferrari does to customers it must feel good because it is impossible to buy any of their cars. Dealers have wait list to get on wait list.

    Why is it hilarious?

    o They share the same tires, because Pagani sells the Zonda F on the Michelin Porsche CGT spec N1/N0 tires (the CCR too, AFAIR).
    The tires have a great influence, so at least this point is equaled!

    - CGT 1473kg vs. PZF 1371kg
    + CGT 612PS vs. PZF 602PS
    = 2,4kg/PS vs. 2,3kg/PS, no big difference

    + The CGT has a shorter gearing
    CGT 81/139/181/237/282/330 km/h
    PZF 88/142/199/252/303/345 km/h

    o They share about the same drag coefficient:
    CGT 0,72 (lower=better) vs. PZF 0,74

    + ...although the CGT creates much more downforce:
    CGT F+49kg R+40kg
    PZF F+ 1kg R+25kg

    + The Zonda F reached 281km/h on the Döttinger Höhe, as the CGT managed 294km/h on the same straight in the wet 7.40min lap.
    (Don't have the diagramm of the 7.33min at hand at the moment, check http://supercarfreak.net/gallery/album105 for the 7.40min lap.)

    I could go on with this.

    So, I ask you back: why not?

    P.S.: Yeah, it is impossible to buy a Ferrari - that's exactly what I am thinking about the brand!

    Well, how do you expect him to get a better time than the CGT, when he is driving the slower car? We all know Italian cars are for show only .

    Ah, the masochistic sheep phenomenon... Occurs everywhere. A bunch of low self-esteem, hungry for recognition people, who will pay ANYTHING, to have something nobody else has. I'm surprised the enthusiasts in the US are even able to get their cars at all.

    Zonda F is in a class of its own. The plush, exotic interior, the outlandish body and the fighter-pilot like "cockpit."

    The only qualm I have is that the engine is a torque monster, not a high-strung wailer (CGT style). But that's just a matter of taste

    This does not begin to tell the story, since the CGT has a much higher redline and still has lower speeds in gear, so the gearing is much lower for the CGT (much bigger difference than these specs show)...
