Others have been adamant about no rear seats. The MT only seems to be a result of Porsche forcing the transmission choices into their own restricted niche, PDK for ultimate track, and MT for those who want an analog involvement experience. Except that the wing's absence may just well appear to those want PDK, Emerson said a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds (and marketing).

vantagesc:While I don't like the idea of a "GT3" with no wing and think it should be called something else, regardless, that "Touring" car is very beautiful! Maybe the most beautiful 991.2. I'd order in dark blue with those silver wheels, very nice.
There is no Dark Blue on the GT3 palette and PTS now costs $13k

I'm not so sure all that froth on RL is well placed. The configurator has made pricing errors and RL goes wild for 1-2 days before it's corrected and no one will admit that they made fools of themselves over nothing. My info for the pricing of PTS for the GT3 is that it may have to be tiered based on the color requested w/ the base pricing around $9K.

Definitely the best looking of all 911 models in my book...

PTS here in Luxembourg is 9712 € and I believe you are right, some PTS cost more than others.

The Configurator does not show $13k (PTS Option is removed from Configurator now, presumably to raise the price) - this is what certain customers had on their order invoices directly from Porsche. I didn't realize that some colors cost more than others (other than Liquid Silver and Saffron Yellow, etc.). This would be an interesting development.

nberry:The touring version of the GT3 will cannibalize sales from the regular 911. Personally, I think the duck tail looks silly. Its Porsche's attempt to deferential the car from other 911's.
It is not a duck tail. That is an elevated rear spoiler at speed.

It won't Nick. Most shoppers will not be able to buy a new GT3.
It may actually encouraged more to buy the regular 911 in order for them to move up the ladder (where we are).

You guys, it has to have rear seats. Now people who paid out the ass for a crappier version (911R) can rationalize by saying, "Ah, but the R doesn't have rear seats, hence the $400K premium."
The R will be the only manual GT3 without a rear wing or rear seats. Manual GT3s without wings and with seats are for mere commoners.

If that's the case then I am positive I don't like it. When my .2 Targa spoiler went up I cringed because it is so ugly. It looks like a part of the rear deck may fly off.

Except, you can easily remove the rear seats if you want to, simple to do for any touring option owners that would want it. But not the other way around, you can't add them if it doesn't come with them, like in the 991R.

I like it and would love to won it as my DD . Only worry would be ground clearance ( if it is like on the RS as a DD it would not be practical even with the lift , and what David mentioned : does the underbody have as much rust protection as the Carrera or will it be like a GT3 ?
As a fun week end car , I could not justify it vs my RS . I do too much track with with it .
The R speculators will be pretty pissed off . Some of the owners too . The R lost a lot of appeal ...... now only the roof and hood make it different . Engine is worst .

Gauss:I know the GT3 CUP doesn't get rust protection but also the regular GT3?
They do get rust protection, but from what I understood is that is less . Or that the parts are more exposed . But I could be wrong .... it would be interesting to know exactly .
