Actually, Jalopnik spelled Purist correctly..... the PDK guys can’t spell, or use their brain capacity to coordinate their left foot with their right hand yes

However, the Jalopnik guy thinks the rear seats got deleted because the bucket seats were selected. I’m wondering where my rear seats are indecision

I gather that the 992 GT3 Touring may include rear seats in response to many customer requests... smiley

I completely get that but still don’t get the need to have the options from the regular Carreras proposed in the GT.angry

Same car but different at the same time. Carrera has enough flavor to wish for a soften GT. They are already less radical than they used to be. I would go the other way. Less sound deadening, less weight, more exotic material.

less choice of options, less color, just back to basics, drive the damn car.

manual or pdk is a preference and both are great  kiss

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

On the GT3 some confort options don’t make sense. But on the touring version? Absolutely.

The reason why there is no GT3 touring PDK with rear seats is because it would cannibalize the entire GT3 range and the high spec GTS and TTS sales which have a much higher margin.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

Mate if i am Willing to pay for a 911 with a GT3 engine, manual transmission and rear seats, why not sell me one. I live in central London, am among the fortunate few to have two parking spaces, but I only have two spaces,  my constraint is not having the ability to really and practically have three plus cars, so want something that ticks a lot of boxes. Ultimately you may be right that a 992 GTS is the way to go, but my bro has a Gen 2 GT3 and the engine is amazing ...

    GT3 touring is a GT3 just without a wing.

Same harsh suspension, same noise, same track orientation. Zero difference.

The pdk-s is different than the regular pdk and tuned for track duty. On top of that, the engine starts pulling at 5,000rpm... I used to daily drive a GT3. At 140kmh on highway, you can’t hear music...the .2 is even worst, you can’t talk to passenger...

Touring was introduced to immediately soften the price of the R which worked. People are mixing the 2 cars but they are really different. R is lighter, more oriented to road driving, single mass FW, softer suspension, steering calibration, etc...a touring is just a GT3 without wing. The R is the lightest modern 911.

A comfortable touring is a GTS. Look at Porker’s thread. Kid in the car = ear plug protection...

because the PET (technical manual) is clear on that...no different parts at all between cars except the wing and the intake filters. the rest is copy paste. I got it confirmed as well in the right place Smiley

I thought that the Touring has a flap to compensate for the lesser downforce vs a GT3 in the back - having the same front in order to balance the aero again - but I might be wrong !

Nothing to compensate underneath. Difference is the wing against the gurney flap installed on the carrera wing.

Nothing else is different. I have the full technical manual which gather GT3 (wing + touring), RS, R. 2013 to date. There is even info about speedster engine on it

These engines will be used for the 992 as well, slightly modified, base stays the same. No sense to develop a completely new n/a engine for that purpose. Smiley
