DJM48:Grant, you should be charging by the hour for the technical advice.
You are an asset to the more technically challenged on this forum!
Like me. I know just enough to start a car and that’s it.

nberry:Found the source of the oil leak. Visually it was difficult to find. They had to spray with a white substance and run the engine. What they found was the oil tank seam was leaking. Apparently, when they pinched the seam together it was not done properly. Oil sipped alone the seam. Hopefully this is a one off incident or Porsche will be replacing all the oil tanks. The oil tank needs to be replaced and probably will involve dropping the engine.
The car is drivable. Now waiting to hear how long it will take to replace the part.
Sorry to hear that but I heard of similar (manufacturing) issues before.
I was quite surprised to see that my new 991.2 Carrera GTS Convertible reached 1400 km now and the oil level is still at max. No (visible) oil consumption so far, pretty great for a biturbo charged car.

My ancient Turbo is presently having its oil leak by the oil cooler fixed. For the Turbo it is a job which requires the motor to be pulled. Bad timing as a few weeks ago I replaced the clutch and just prior to that the plugs and coils. Most likely they will pull the motor for the GT3 just to be certain they can inspect the motor for any other signs of leaks and issues.

Makes sense. Porsche makes it very easy for the mechanic to pull an engine. It comes out in one piece.

Comes out with gearbox attached - the whole drivetrain comes out as one piece...

Please do as I STILL have not seen it!
I'm picking it up on Monday though, needless to say the excitement is building.

DaveGordon:Definitely looks better with the silver wheels
Definitely better!
BTW, my hat off to the Swiss. Just passed a law prevented lobsters from being placed into boil water while conscious. Also, preventing storing them on ice or disassembling them while alive.

Interesting comparison test in most recent SportAuto. They basically compared the handling qualities of cars like the GT3, AMG GTR, McLaren 720s, Corvette and Performante.
The 720s was on regular PZeros, all other cars on Cup or even Trofeo or Cup ZP2...
They praised the 720s and the Performante but criticize the GT3 for lack of precision. Interesting that they are disappointed by the handling qualities of a GT Porsche.

Off topic can be mind blowing. Given I don’t even like lobster I am curious. Are there other illegal methods we can dream up? What is the legal way to kill the lobster? Old age? I guess there is a reason I don’t kill my own food. Why are lobsters special, I am guessing there are rules for all animals we eat? Questions I perhaps don’t need answers to.

There are several humane ways to kill a lobster. Like you, I am not a lobster fan though on a occasion have had a lobster roll.

DJM48:Congrats Frank.
It looks brilliant!
Thanks! It appears to be a funny color, totally different inside compared to daylight.

As I understand they criticize that the feed-back in general, the steering, that the balance between under and over-steer is no longer as good as with McLaren (the McLaren being ob regular street tires!) and the Performante (on Trofeo). They explicitly say that Porsche has lost its crown to their own surprise.
I'm not too surprised a carbon tubbed supercar handles better, it damn well should!
