And the time! It is a long process to have Porsche approve a new color. Supposedly some colors won't work with some models (materials incompatibility or some excuse). In fact, quite a few colors that are approved on some models are specifically refused for other models. Weird...
That could force the customer to look else where and spend his money on another brand 
Even the brake caliper paint cannot be part of optional / custom color choice 
Not sure who even came up with the stupid button gear shifts on the wheels back then

I think it looks a lot better on a GT3 than on other models - I think the additional black accents help. I saw it on a Turbo and a Carrera S and didn't like it at all. it does have quite a lot of green in.

The photo I takes is near the real color
This is a very accurate rendering of Miami. Most photos on the net, show it as much too turquoise. It is a bit, but not that much. It's still a very nice colour. However, some like it, some don't. Most who don't, haven't even seen it in real or on a GT3.
In the sun it pops and is really a vibrant colour.

What's the consensus on wheel color for these bright colored GT3's? Back in 997 RS days I was convinced it should always be black, but I feel now that trend is a bit dated, and it hides the design of the wheel.

Fully agree. The GT3 wheels are really beautiful, but the black hides that rather - especially in gloss black. IMO they are optimal in platinum - as fitted to my car 
Silver seems to be becoming a bit more fashionable - I think a lot of people are done with black wheels now.

It doesn't get much brighter than white, and I went with the standard silver wheels 
not sure if this is satin-aluminum, but it's practically the same brightness.

I am puzzled about it . I want to move away from black rims , but I can't really embrase the silver ones . I like them when I first see them , for a short while, and then I slowly I find them to be pretty dull and make the 911 look too ' elegant ' and it even clashes as there is often no other silver part on the car . Gives it also some king of an older look .
The black ones do hide a bit too much the shape, specially on photos . But actually in real life I find that the different light often gives them quite some depth that is not shown on pics . The other thing for me is that I do not wash my cars too seriously, so having a rim that hides the brake dust is welcome .

That is why one should go with Platinum, best of both worlds
