Re: McLaren on a winning streak

Lame video. They spent most of their time just reviewing the aspects that are the same on the 570S. The entire video should have just been about the boot space and access.

    Rossi:

Did we have the 570GT here already? The first of the new McLaren I rather like, it features some clever details, like the panoramic roof for example. kiss

    I love this car.

I am seriously thinking of buying it. The 570 GT offers (to me) much more then 911 turbo. The car is special, seldom on road, not so provocative like Ferrari more luxury then a Porsche. I really like the car.

The next dealer is only 30 km far away.

I have to think about it Smiley

Re: McLaren on a winning streak

Saw this one in Munich...very tempting but the color isn't really my thing.

    http://www.munich.mclaren.com/mclaren-preowned/2013/mclaren/12c-spider/2013-mclaren-12c-spider-azurblau-80807-m-nchen-for-sale-s...

Very interesting price tag for a car with 13k km only.

Do you have to add 20% tax on top of that price?

VAT in Germany is 19% and no, it is already included. Actually, the dealer would be willing to negotiate "further"... Smiley

The also have this...this is their loaner for customers.

Re: McLaren on a winning streak

Make sure you can get it with 2 additional years of Certified warranty. Wouldn't own one without a warranty.

Re: McLaren on a winning streak

As far as this side of the world. The MP4-12C is extremely hard to find.  as This is McLaren's first attempted production car for a very limited production time and numbers, and regardless of the mistakes they made on this car , it would certainly be valuable 15-20years down in the road, so a lot of collectors are trying to get their hands on 12C at this side of the world.

If you intend to keep the car, its worth the money....   but I think u don't seems to keep anything old.... haha

its a carbon monocell car, so the driving experiences will raise the bar higher for ur standards after....

Re: McLaren on a winning streak

Here are some quick shots of my 675 LT which I picked up today and drove all too briefly. Its a special MSO colour (Lantana Purple which is very hard to capture in photos). The colour changes with light from purple to more blue and even shades of black. Interior accents are in orange naturally ( my favourite colour and a McLaren signature ). I'm a huge fan of the satin carbon finish .All I can say at this point is that it is very, very fast (neck snappingly so). The steering feel and general agility of the car is night and day from the 12C, and 65o Spider  I have had previously. The car feels "alive" in the way all the best driver's car do.I have always complained about the brake pedal feel on the McLarens and this seems to have been cured too. More detailed findings and photos after detailing and  paint protection in a couple of weeks or so. For now enjoy...

Awesome car. Everyone is saying it's amazing. Hopefully one day I'll get a drive in one and see what all the fuss is about. Enjoy!

Thanks Smiley . Wheel choice was on the basis of aesthetics rather than weight. I went for P Zeros rather San Super Trofeos as most of my driving will be on the road.

McLaren lays out future plans, says half its cars will be hybrids

2017 McLaren 570GT, 2016 Geneva Motor ShowEnlarge Photo
It’s hard to imagine but the current iteration of McLaren’s road car division, McLaren Automotive, has only been up and running for about six years. In that time, the company has managed to launch a new factory, a motorsport division and a three-tier model lineup that includes some of the fastest cars ever produced.

Last year McLaren managed to move a record 1,648 cars. That’s still half the number Lamborghini sells and it’s close to a quarter of what Ferrari [NYSE:RACE] sells. However, McLaren expects this to grow considerably over the coming years. With the new Sports Series models on offer, McLaren estimates 2016’s sales to come in at around 3,000 units and in the longer term the company sees sales growing to between 5,000 and 6,000 units annually.
At this week’s 2016 Geneva Motor Show, McLaren showed off the new 570GT and announced a new business plan that covers the next six years of operation. Called Track22, the plan calls for the investment of around £1 billion (approximately $1.4 billion) in new product between now and 2022, equal to about 20-25 percent of turnover.

The new product will include 15 new cars or derivatives, one of which may end up being an all-electric supercar sitting in McLaren’s range-topping Ultimate Series. Work on a prototype has already started. There will also be more LT models like the 675LT. McLaren says LT, which stands for Long Tail, is to become a sub-brand for more hardcore, track-focused cars.

Finally, McLaren’s business plan calls for more hybrid models like the P1 flagship. In fact, by the time 2020 rolls around, McLaren estimates that at least half of its cars will feature gasoline-electric powertrains. We won’t be seeing any new McLaren hybrids for a while, though, as the next one isn’t due until towards the end of the Track22 business plan.
“Our next hybrid vehicle will launch towards the latter part of our six year plan, and we will see at least 50 percent featuring hybrid technology by 2022,” McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt said. “Hybridization has obvious CO2 and fuel consumption advantages but for us, it is all about delivering the performance and enjoyment of a McLaren.”

The good news is that McLaren will be sticking with two-seat sports cars. The bad news is that we’re unlikely to see a McLaren positioned below the current Sports Series cars. Something like a Porsche Boxster or Cayman is off the table. Instead, we can expect to see further derivatives of the cars grouped in the hierarchal Sport, Super and Ultimate categories.

    No 2+2 bah, too bad...

Re: McLaren on a winning streak

I sat today in the R, the Huracan , the LT675 and the 570. McLaren are the cars that felt the more special when sitting inside ( special = sporty and different. ) also they have the best seating position !

+1.. I am definitely going to go and check out a 570 in more detail. Really impressed. The Huracan interior seemed like a Golf in comparison.
