Interesting data from the excellent  911R TAG book which landed just prior to Christmas

interesting. the PZs in vienna got one each. 1x2 = 2, so 34-2=32 were distributed to PZs outside vienna? that is BS, so probably RC is right:::))))

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 R (2016)

What about China, car wasn’t offered there?

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 R (2016)

I wondered about that too, perhaps manual transmission cars have zero interest in China.

Peasants are the one that drive manuals in China.

Canada is also missing, and the USA number is inflated. I believe Canadian cars had been rolled into the USA numbers.  Make sense, last I heard USA got 260 cars, Canada got 26, 296 right there.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 R (2016)

    China’s porsche’s country code is C33. Canada is C36.

    http://philipraby.co.uk/2014/09/16/porsche-country-codes/

i will check the source data when I get home later. The build of each car is listed including VIN, country code, colour, options, SMFW/regular flywheel, destination country, etc.

Kobalt, the book is a detailed journey through the R story. Includes a section on the 1967 R, the motivation for the 2016 car, the development history, a full technical summary with cutaway graphics, all the marketing and promotional publications, the colour breakdown and individual listings and images of the PTS cars and finally a record of the specs for all 991 cars.

    And beautiful photos!

There was the option of matching the book number to the car number which was a nice touch.

Very very happy with the book.

    David

In the Austrian total are counted the 911 R delivered by Porsche Central and East Europe which if I am not mistaken comprehends 25-30 more markets (Russia included). For example two 911 R were delivered new by the Porsche Center Prague.

The R book is fabulous as are all the authors previous publications.

Didn't you know I add numbers when I am hungover? Close enough Smiley

And for 2 days no one noticed 10 is missing. That tells me how much people read into my posts anyway.Smiley

Moot point now that another page has been posted about separate Canadian numbers.

I just got the RS book and I've only flipped through it so far so take this for what it is. It's a nice book and all but seem light on facts (which may not be important to everyone). Looking closer at the 991 section it feels like a re-hash of the marketing materials and adds little that wasn't known before. My takeaway is that it is a decent overview of the RS history in a nice format.

The R book on the other hand is on an entirely different level. Fantastic book!

The rest of us are still hungover and didn't notice. Joost was the first to sober up Smiley

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 R (2016)

    Hahah probably!

Thing is, when I am drunk and start adding numbers, the outcome is invariably lower than what it should be, so I came to a lot lower number first...

    “How much did you drink?”

”well, lemme see, 6 beers, 4 rum n coke, some shots, so alltogether about 5 drinks”

oh and thanks Nick, I hope to hold you to that offer! wink

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 R (2016)

    991R delivery 001.jpg

I have been fortunate to end up in a position to acquire a 911R.
    It will join an RS4.0.
Having just driven it from Sweden to south east Europe on Cups (1800km) I got a bit of a sense of what it is about as a car.
It is very special, and to those who drive them, I would expect to be worth every penny. And even those who, like me, had to buy them on the secondary market.
It is as exciting as the RS4.0, but very different. RS4.0 is the track car, 911R is the road car (not a GT, mind), both delivering feedback and involvement to the max, while potentially compromising the ultimate speed. That, to me, is perfect. And worth the outlay.
    Best, w

Yes, definitley worth posting. Thanks. I'd want the original 911R even more than a 2.7RS in my garage if I had to choose one!
