To somehow breath some air into this dead thread...I had one ignition coil replaced today after several warning lights (engine, PSM) came off yesterday. So, went to the dealer today and was told, that this does not happen often, but frequently. It is caused by the mid engine bay layout with these coils more exposed to the "elements", like rain, debris etc. (nearer to the ground). It was replaced within half an hour under warranty - I still ask myself why this happens when I have not even reached 15tkm with a car that is not yet 1,5 years old. But, I am happy, that it was not a "serious" issue...
... I can tell you... the car really is a blast to drive and I am looking forward to some serious driving with the Porsche Club Germany. However, when your engine hits you in the back and you think that three of the six cylinders have already gone, that really gets you. So, if, with a warm engine, the PSM warning light goes off, immediately followed by the engine light, you know what to make of it...
