Did we have the 570GT here already? The first of the new McLaren I rather like, it features some clever details, like the panoramic roof for example. kiss

Looks like they did a nice job on that kiss

I am anxious to see how they do a sportier version (GT3 style)...

Official pics. A big improvement on the 570S IMHO.

This is the one I'd buy. Added space with really no downside.

The back of the 570GT looks so much nicer in this "fast back" style rather than the 570S.  Wow.  Far less feminine looking rear somehow.

Nice!  I wonder if they will extend this concept to the 650/675?

Perhaps the replacement might. 650/675 are more or less 12C, pretty much end of the road products for that line.

570 and the variants are also on the same platform but they are part of a new line, fresh products.

Already placed an order for a 570GT.

Mc Laren is finding their style, this looks the best yet. Can't wait to see a 4 seater from them broken heart

Re: McLaren on a winning streak

Weight difference is meaningless, but what's the price difference?

Re: McLaren on a winning streak

In the UK it is £10k GBP above the 570S.

In US, it's >10% (~$200k new price).  And the weight increase slows 0-60 by 0.2 sec.

Re: McLaren on a winning streak

Hmmm, $20K is a bit steep of a premium. Glass roof is a good plus IMO, though I'm not sure how much extra usable space you get. The shelf is already there in the coupe, so you really just get an additional wedged shaped area that may or may not be all that useful.

Re: McLaren on a winning streak

You might have to account for the fact that the USD is stronger....

Re: McLaren on a winning streak

I am in minority since I like 570S much more then this pointless car. Bigger boot? Oh yeah. Actually, I would like to see luggage set for two that fits inside 570GT boot...

Re: McLaren on a winning streak

I think it's just a better design, whether the space is super useful or not. Having slightly more space is just a bonus.

One thing I guess that is nice though is that you can now easily access stuff on the shelf behind the seats. Bringing stuff into the cabin, angling it between the seats and putting it on the shelf can be a pain in the ass. Now you can set the stuff back there via this read window.

And what will happened with the stuff on the rear shelf during heavy braking?  Imagine a laptop flying forward... Or even newspaper... Also idiotic side -opening. What is the point? Some is a BMW Isseta fan?

Wonder if it's the change in tire compound rather than the weight that explains the acceleration loss?

Re: McLaren on a winning streak

The side opening rear window is lifted from the original Jaguar E Type coupe I suspect.

Re: McLaren on a winning streak

Very nice, a practical alternative to the 991 Turbo S.........

The same thing that happens on the rear shelf now when you brake? It has straps built in there...

If you put a laptop on the rear shelf behind the seats in an S-Class and brake hard, the laptop will hit you too...

The reason behind the side opening is because you'd have to lean way too far over the rear of the car to put stuff in it. From the side you can access it much easier.
