    someone will install the same aerokit and same larger wider wheels and tires that come on the current GT3 or GT3RS , whichever is the easiest fit ...i.e., make his own MT version of a 991.1 GT3 / GT3RS ..a "GT3 R" ..and simply  swap back ( or incl in the sale ) the retained oem parts at resale time !

    It can still be the lightest 991 road model since the 991.1 Carrera has been replaced by the heavier 991.2 Smiley

    Oh, another update: Today, for the very first time, I heard a possible price tag of "up to 250k EUR". Ouch. Not sure however if this means the base car or the car with all options (PCCB for example will be optional as far as I heard).

    What does that actually mean? 

    It is a quote directly from Porsche.

    Is your love for Porsche strong enough?

    Do you qualify as extremly fluent speculator?

    Did you bought 918, 991 GT3 RS or have spotless track record in buying at least 10 Porsche vehicles?

    If the answers are yes you might be potentially satisfying costumer for 911 R... But, there are some pretty shady parts od the equation so, chances are 50/50...

    If I could predict we will see way too many 911 Rs in speculators hands.

    You mean about speculator?

    No. Look at 991 GT3 RS market. Do you really think that Porsche did not know the fact that around 50% of cars will end in speculator hands? Same story about normal 991.1 GT3. Now, you can find some new examples in EU which are selling for way more then 210k €. Even some official Porsche dealers are playing pretty strange games with 991 GT3 RS and 991 GT3. Kundenauftrag... Better to stop here since I could steer some not very tasty soup in the end...

    No. It is a new rule from Porsche. Only sold to costumers.

    Actually not that many GT3RS ended up in speculators' hands. Most are now being driven by real car people.

    The few that pops up being flipped are mostly from greedy USA dealers, they saw the gold mine and $$ flashes in front of them.

    Quite few dealers were stuck ordering a 918 as 'stock' vehicle for the owners, while those ended up paying them back handsomely, the buying a of a 918 entitled those US dealer principals first dibs to great cars, and those owners have no intention of keeping any, they just see the perfect flip vehicles. 

    The greedy dealers is and will always be the bad guy, not the 918 buyers.

    Will the R ended up as a great flip vehicle? Most certainly, unless of course Porsche adjust the initial pricing first. Priced in the secondary amount and that will weed out the flippers. Yes that will make it more unaffordable for those that truly wants such a car, but they face the same obstacle on the other side of the coin where they have to buy from greedy dealers who tacks on unreal 'market adjustments'.

    The R, is a pure parts bin exercise, take off the rear wing of a GT3, swap in a manual transmission, slap on RS's roof and hood, add some mascara and voila, done. They can't make too many due to a number of reasons, not enough GT3 engines, the specialized RS parts which are in limited production, and the high emission from the manual transmission will skew their overall average if they make too many.

    No matter how loud the manual guys shout, they are still a very tiny minority, they cannot buy enough manual cars to justify Porsche making more, just be glad they are still doing it with the GT4, the Spyder, the R and perhaps some future cars.

    If an RS is already trading above 300k, I would say they should charge at least 300k, if not more.
