FWIW, The GT2-style folding bucket seat was in fact developed with and manufactured by Lear Corp.
I don't know if the same company also makes the new one-piece seat.

    You are right. My mistake...

Glad to hear you are keeping the car Peter. I dont think it will depreciate much so you may as well enjoy it after waiting this long. Make sure you post some pictures here when you take it on your first adventure...

if the GT3RS is not after my liking i will just sell it without loosing too much money on it. in any case i shall start out with the carbon bucket seats and will try to swap them for more comfy seats if really necessary. the roll cage will be taken out and put on storage before i pick up the car from the dealership.

the ferrari bug will stay dormant for 2-3 years:::))))

Good to hear that. Smiley The GT3 RS certainly is no elegant car by no means but are the wives really that interested in what we drive?

if it doesn't work out i shall supplement by a BMW M2. cool car btw.

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

All wives/women seem to love the 911 convertible, just as a hint.

However, I wouldn't give too much on their opinion angry. My wife wanted me to get a Panamera Turbo S instead of the Cayenne Turbo S and I listened to her. Big mistake. If I would have chosen a Cayenne Turbo S instead, I would still drive this SUV. The Panamera just wasn't right for me, I felt old in it and luggage room sucked as well.

availability is no issue in vienna. seems the RHD market is pretty much distorted even for the M2.

As a street car I would not drive one kilometer in the car, but as a racecar the livery is very nice and classic. I guess the owner missed the fact that this is a street car yes

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

If you wanted a car looking like that the RS seems appropriate... I would rather have this (minus the yellow belts) than a white, black or silver RS...

Over here in Germany, they would mock you if you drive like that on normal roads but for the track, why not? Smiley

    - never experienced something like that, when I had stripes on my 997. I even think that any livery may sometimes help to be better seen when driving on the Autobahn ( I had a silver 997 and silver becomes "stealth" on a sunny day on the Autobahn.) So, yes, I do like stripes on (any) Porsche...

Well, I guess we are a different folk here in Bavaria. Smiley A GT3 in track "ornament" would certainly earn you some laughs here if you would drive it on the road mainly. There is a nice GT3 RS in Munich who probably has never seen the track but it looks as if the owner has won the Les Mans 24h. Smiley You don't want to know how this guy is called in our circles and I even know him personally. Smiley What a shame but I have to admit that he drives his car in the city(!) as if he is on the track. Smiley I wonder if he remembers where his blinker is...

But you also seem unusually sensitive for what other people think and say about a person. I don't think we all tick like this.

right. should have done it when i turned thirty.

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

Taking a midler but similar approach... Stopped bothering what other people could think... I wear two watches. I drive bright loud cars. I wear fancy colorful clothes. I take my kids everywhere with me like fancy restaurants. We go out really late to eat sometimes and found ourselves arriving at times the last table was having dessert, and some friends requested we eat no later than 6pm so we never see them... We travel with one or even two helpers... We watch little TV and don't care whatsoever about sports (a big no no in the USA as they all adore talking about teams).

In the end no one should have others impose how you want to live and behave (up to a point of course). Deeply they want you to conform because they are jealous and want everyone to be the same. I let that be their problem and not mine a long time ago.

agree with most of what you said.

but the RS in question is screaming for unwanted attention on regular roads, and this is certainly what I don't want to do (although I have a stock 3.8RS with big wing and stock decals that I try not to use too much on regular roads...)

I learned that the older I am, the richer I am, the more knowlegable I am, then the more humble I want to live.  I do not want to attract public attention.  I want strangers to leave me alone.

Safety has no price... Our apartment building has full time security and our house is in a patrolled gated area... Doesn't cost much more...

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

btw, i did not say that i like the red-white-black livery on the car - in fact i don't. but if the owner likes it then fine - no need for him to worry about what others think. conformism is a big restraint on creativity. if you look into history you will see that the greatest artists and scientists were absolute non-conformists.

i am going to put livery on the RS as well, just have not decided which one:::)))
