If the new .2 GT3 is not turbo and takes the 4.0 l engine what room will be left for the .2 RS . We have heared so many times that this engine is at it s max....
Some think the latest mule we see are not a .2 GT3 but the R in disguise

For me is a R too
Never happened they test a mule with model designation on,and again usually they try to let us/magazine think wrong and this time is too much easy to come to the conclusion that is a Gt3 MK2.So for me is something other...
The only thing that makes me wonder about that maybe is not the R is the fact that is too late to test a new front bumper at 20 days from Geneve, where it seems that the car will be unveiled.
I 'm dreaming again for a 991.2 Gt3 and RS turbocharged...

If the 997 RS 4.0 could make 500hp with a redline of 8,500 rpm, the DFI version of the RS 4.0 can make 520-525hp without too much trouble, imo. Maybe it will focus more on suspension improvements and weight loss?

I would guess the RS will keep 4.0L, but wouldn't be shocked to see a limited edition RS 4.2 at the end of 991 production.

I'm not sure a 4.2 l would be (technically) possible (or better said: advisable) but with Porsche, everything is possible.

Sun has ordered both the next GT3 and GT3 RS, but after the experience of the current GT3, it's difficult to use their capability anywhere but on a track, in Utah,NV,WY and AZ, and certain un-named roads in NZ... So Sun would prefer the cars to be lighter rather than have more power.
Sun hopes they are both NA!!!
OMG,, the screaming 9000 RPM 991.1 GT3 is going to be as rare as rocking horse shit if they plump a 4.0 in the 991.2 GT3, good or bad, who knows?.
Having my name down for the gen 2 for sure. Could be the last of the NA's.

KresoF1:So, 9000rpm is a screaming and 8800rpm is not screaming enough?
A strange world indeed, especially since 4.0 991 GT3 RS/911 R engine is far better engine then 991.1 GT3 3.8...
Didn't they play dirty with the RS engine ? you only get 8800 rpm in 1st gear then down to 8600 and 8500 rpm ? the 9A1 block smells bad over 8000 rpm, but what do I know
throt:Easy on me tigers........
Common misconception. The GT3RS does not rev to 8800. The car is rev limited to approx 8600 in sport auto and runs to 8800 only in manual mode first gear. The Tacho shows red dashes from 8600 to tell this.
The 911R revs only to 8600. They have finally come clean on this. It has a solid orange bar from 8600
The 991.1 GT3 will be the only NA production Porsche 911 to ever rev to 9000 rpm. This luxury came at great expense to PAG!

KresoF1:On manual pretty long overall gearing and mechanical LSD only.
Gearing is not short, but with 8,600 rpm redline it is pretty good (though it has to reach 200 mph in 6th). LSD could be E-diff with small electric motor supplying a hydraulic pump, if they wanted...

It will be an option for the next GT3.

So many options for 991.2 models in the sporty side of things... GT3 with or without PDK, more R models, GT3 RS, new GT4... Maybe that was the plan all along, make the normal cars more comfortable and expand the GT lines at a higher price point. Very smart. All it is missing is a 911 GTx "barchetta"...
