SportCarGroup:Yellow and white are still unbeatable for GT4
I agree...flashy colors (well, maybe not white but still) goes well with the GT4.
I would stay away from anything metallic though, makes the car look too elegant.

Flashy colors always go well with a GT car.
Same goes to Ferrari and especially Lamborghini but also McLaren and the R8.
Getting a metallic grey GT car (or super sports car) is kind of boring, unless you live in a neighborhood like mine where flashy colors only cause trouble.

SciFrog:The only reason I am looking at the GLS 63 AMG is that is finally comes in red...
A red GLS 63 AMG would be like a red rag to people here in Germany.
I saw a red G65 AMG once at my local Mercedes dealer, kind of a flashy red, don't know the name, don't even know if this color was ever officially available but my mechanic told me that the car had the whole side keyed and received a new paint job (this is why the car was in the repair shop). Not a good idea to have such a flashy color on a big SUV here.

AMG GT looks great it in the slightly muted / dark red color that is offered, saw one in Munich. Even their metallic yellow color is growing on me.
The standard color palette Porsche provides is pretty drab. I heard Porsche is trying to make PTS a bit easier for the customer and hopefully increase the number of PTS cars in the future.
SciFrog:Tell me about it. There is not a day I regret my agate grey Macan simply because there was no good color available
In retrospective, my Agate Grey choice for my previous 991 Turbo S was a mistake. I should have chosen black...or a more spectacular color like red or yellow. PTS is out of the question for me because I always wanted the first cars or as fast as possible and PTS takes time (up to 6 months or longer) and there is no way to accelerate PTS (unless you are really lucky and the PTS you want is currently used in production).

The choice of Porsche standard colors (apart few exceptions) is just ridiculous, even Skoda can do better with a 26 colors palette not to mention Audi . Then if you want a special color they make the PTS process a pain. Yes there is a long approved PTS list but even with that the process is cumbersome.
The only car that looks good in black is a chauffeured Merc S or Cadillac Escalade. Basically not "cars" in the sense of Renteam users but more "transportation". Black hides all the lines and designs and all you can see is the general shape of the car. In that regard even white is a notch better.
The best color of any car we owned was the Nordic Gold Cayenne TTS. IT was bold, it was bright, it was unique. Just awesome in every aspect. The next best color palette is red/tan for our 996 of of course now for the California
Adam2S:Well I collect my Racing Yellow GT4 from Stuttgart on Wednesday next week - very excited now!
Congrats - still remember my collection day very clearly (even if the photo is not)

Ohhh - are you allowed to take pictures then? I was just assuming that cameras would be banned inside the building, so wasn't even going to take one?
Current - Aston V12 Vantage, Morning Frost White, Buckets, Manual
On Order - Cayman GT4, Racing Yellow, PCCB, Full Buckets

Not only can you take pics (in the delivery showroom), but Porsche takes a professional photo of you and the car together and gives it to you in a paper frame/folder.

Well after almost an 11 month wait, I finally collected my car this week from the factory. The car is just stunning, definitely exceeded my high expectations so far!
There were three other GT4 and two GT3RS's in the collection area and also spotted lots of other GT cars in various PTS colours around the factory which was really nice, but I have to say that I am 100% happy with my choice of Racing Yellow.
Unfortunately I've not been able to drive it yet as due to time of year/weather I had booked transport, so at the factory gates I handed it over to my transporter driver without even driving it 1 yard! The car arrived home last night but it's going to take another 2-4 weeks to get it registered and pay and reclaim the VAT, so I have to wait a little bit more to experience the best bit! I managed to drive it a whole 50yds from the drop off point into to my garage however!
The handover experience and factory tour was really fantastic! I'm stunned at the fact the cars are still fundamentally hand built to the level that they are, yet at the same time the cleanliness, discipline, tech, computerisation and supreme level of efficiency in the factory is just something else!
Hotel (Graf Zeppelin) and Museum tour are also very good - thanks for the hotel recommendation guys. Once again a HUGE thank you to Reginos without whose input and help I would not have managed to get a car.
A couple of pics of the collection
And a couple of it back home, and one tucked up in the garage next to the V12V
