That green is fantastic There is a suggestion that the plates may mean it is a factory owned car and that the colour may possibly be the new "Magic Bamboo" green. Would anyone with connections at the factory be able to find out if this is the colour or if not, what colour it is?
J.Seven:Lars997:huangester:there are soo much going on with the Turbo rear.... looks too complicated for my taste... they should do something about the wing at least....
And actually "Porsche design" was always "reduced, lean and clean" - that's why we probably see a problem in it.
Only rear wing I like is the one on 993 Turbo. Still, I find the 993 4S, one of the most beautifull Porsche ever designed.
The rear wing on Turbo, GT2 and GT3 models to my eyes looks almost pathetic. I know they have a propose but Lambo and Ferrari can have lots of down force without the need of those rear wings. The GT3 RS without the rear wing looks so much better, the new 911 R will be one of the most sportive and beautiful 911 ever because it has the large body without the pimp rear wing.
Friend of mine bought a 930 Targa with turbo body (rare car) and he took out the huge rear wing, the car looked SO, SO much better and wide without the rear wing. The wing went for the wall on his garage, garage looked beautiful with the rear wing on the wall, that´s the right place for it to be .
Here´s the beauty
Fantastic

ISUK that is not Magic Bamboo Metallic. That is the color painted on this Panamera GTS in which I had a ride during my visit to Leipzig in October 2014. It was a test color at that time. Will try to find out what color that Turbo is. However to me it looks a lot like Viper Green Metallic a 1977 911 color.

4trac:Maybe we can start a Turbo R rumour: it uses recycled Mezger engines and has no spoiler.....
Like I said before, the Mezger engine is a thing of the past and according to sources in Weissach, no Weissach engineer considers the Mezger engine to be a highlight (anymore) because the new engines are much more advanced and much more efficient. Of course us customers think differently, especially when we remember the 911 Turbo cars with Mezger engine, tuned to "reliable" 600 hp and more.

Atzporsche:Magic Bamboo YES!! This above new colour HELL NO
Maybe they should name it "Green Hell" then in honor of the Nurburgring...?
I like the color myself. But I'm not sure I would choose it. I like seeing a variety in colors on the road, but not normally in my own garage.
m4ever:From Rennlist/Eduardo another Magic Bamboo example :
m4ever: That 'Bamboo' Cayenne was actually found by Daniel (lessthan3mph) from Canada. He is quite knowledgeable about colors too.

Here is what I wrote in Rennlist about these interesting photos (all .1 & .2 991 Turbos) in this new metallic green color:
Saw these pics. PTS on a new turbo already?
Surprised considering how many are still waiting
on PTS RS's.

^^^Any idea what colour?

Could it be--Magic Bamboo Metallic?!!!

Seems like the Magic Bamboo Metallic has a bit of brown in it.
Once again, we know photos are often misleading. Good work
"lessthan3mph"

Ya, I agree, it doesn't look exactly the same, but it would be
hard to imagine they'd do PTS already, since the window for
all PTS should be closed. So I'm guessing a new green that
hasn't been seen before, and magic bamboo might fit the bill.
It's not on the configurator yet, but who knows...
Something is going on with this color...and it's not the same
'Magic Bamboo Metallic' that we saw earlier on that Cayenne
or my photos taken at Porsche Leipzig last July.
But it looks like a new color (regardless what they call it) under
consideration for at least the 911 Turbo & perhaps other models!
This is a .2 991 Turbo. Note that the license plate: 'BB*CR 125',
which stands for Böblingen, Baden-Württemberg. Such plate is
often associated with a Weissach test car. So my bet is that this
is a Porsche factory vehicle, not a customer PTS car!
***
Here was a similar Weissach factory gt4 in which 'Miami Blue'
was tested. I personally saw this car at Zuffenhausen during
my visit last July!
***
And here is a different Turbo (with regular 'red' calipers, not PCCBs)
at Weissach as reported by someone recently here in Rennlist. It's
a .1 991 Turbo, so they were experimenting with this green metallic
color for at least one year. Coincidence that these metallic green
turbos are showing up at Weissach or with Weissach area plates,
I don't think so!
Saw this PTS green Turbo (factory car) yesterday in Weissach.

And here was my response to the fellow that posted the photo,
although it was never subsequently determined as to the color:
Did you get to talk to the owner and find out
the exact PTS color?
It looks too light & rich to be the popular 'Oak Green Metallic'...
And there are many other possibilities of 'green metallic' PTS paints
which we are not that familiar with in their current 991/981 form:
And it could also be a few approved green metallics that are not
listed above! These types of 'metallic' greens were a particular
favorite color of Ferry Porsche!
If you could find out for us, we all would appreciate it!

So keep you eyes on this new metallic green color. It might be
the re-formulated 'Magic Bamboo Metallic' that Daniel is talking
about and that we brought up at my luncheon with 'Porsche
Exclusive' staff back in July at Zuffenhausen. Here is what I
wrote about it back in July after Daniel told me the info he had
found out just before my meeting with 'Porsche Exclusive'!

Also I recently posted the following related to the information posted by m4ever:
From RT, by m4ever:
Is this for real??
(If so, I can just imagine all the offended
Turbo customers storming out, and the
hapless SA who's trying to pronounce this.)
Daniel:
That same Czech individual that posted on Rennteam that information...
Also posted the same, without elaborating on his source of information,
on the thread that I started on 'Custom Ordering' in the 981 forum:
And here was my response, to which he has not yet replied:

There is no color called 'Fuchsitgrünmetallic', either approved or
under feasibility, with PAG at the moment. And there is nothing
with color code Y76 either. That means little. If it's a new formula
for a special color, there is not reason for it to show on the PTS
list since it's not being requested by a customer.
If you are a wise guy, the name of the color itself does lend itself
- ('Fuchsitgrünmetallic') - to be a joked as 'F***-it-Green Metallic',
but I don't know if our Czech friend has this weird sense of humor.
I would not jump to conclusions until someone confirms & verifies
the color information. And it must be someone that has access to
the color code tag of these 991 'factory' Turbos or is an official of
PAG.

Eduardo , I do not have any weird sense of humour. The color is real and the name was not made up by me. The information I have come straight from Porsche. In the past I have loaned cars to the Porsche Museum and as such sometimes (not always) I receive answers to (my) questions related to colors.
Yes it is correct that the color is not on the latest PTS list (16/12/15) and for that matter neither is Magic Bamboo metallic. I assume it is part of the test / development colors , whether it will make it into the PTS list I really have no idea. It is a fantastic color though.
Therefore 991 Turbo Coupe pictured is not a Customer car (and it could not possibly be as it is the facelift Turbo of which deliveries in Europe did not start yet.) .
Last but not least, I am an avid reader of your posts related to PTS, great work you are doing.

artur777:Dear people, in other thread AB Supertest Audi R8 Plus is 9.1 for 0-200, which is faster than 991.2 TTS. Pls could you tell me how it is possible?
The test is from AutoBILD Sportscars. Their numbers are usually a bit better than the ones measured by SPORT AUTO or AMS because they are using different methods. Just wait for a first test from AutoBILD Sportscars, so we can compare numbers. Also, the 9.9 seconds from 0-200 kph is the official Porsche number, not a number achieved in a review. Last but not least, the 991 Turbo S has 30 hp less than the new R8 Plus and we haven't seen a track comparison yet. Also, I think I do not have to remind you that the R8 is a two-seater?!
