I would have this over a new AMG
Found this on a Monday afternoon and looking for distractions from the business of working ...
no price, so must be 6 figures!

that's pretty beautiful.
If I had the need and the money, the 600 Pullmans (W100) that Brabus are doing would be high on the list. Looks identical (other than perfectly restored) to original from the outside with a S600 engine and gearbox, brakes etc. getting rid of the massive nightmare hydraulic system.

Neat death trap ;)
As much as I like some old cars, I'd have safety concerns. 99.99999% chance nothing bad happens, but that .00001 is like death. Every says it will never happen to them, but I've had a friend hit head on by a drunk drivers, my brother rolled his car once, and another person I know rolled one in a ditch a year ago...
noone1:JimFlat6:It can't be that bad of a death trap. In that era benz did crash tests with real people in their cars.
I would have thought they ceased such practices after MY1945...
Was just watching a documentary about 70 years anniversary of WW2! Can't believe it's been that long!

I love it, it's not a death trap at all. Super well built and huge crumble zones. Another plus is you won't be doing 100mph in it. If it's other traffic that got you concerned i'd rather be in this than any Mini, Smart, or any of the generic small entry cars.. a la fiesta etc..

We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.
Mithras:That said, Id rather be in 50's Benz than a 50's Chevy in a crash...
That's right. But honestly - driving vintage car means taking the risk of driving motor-cylce. My wife always asks me why I are ok not having seat belts when driving our 356 - my answer, I don't buckle up on top of my Harley neither. And don't forget - you are cruising with those old cars. This takes already a lot of risk away.
Nope, this car doesn't do anything for me but it is no secret I'm not so much into old-timers.
I love some of the older US pony/muscle cars or Italian sports cars but the SL Pagode for example isn't my thing at all...or any other older Mercedes (incl. the 300 SL) for that matter.
