Interesting to hear that you car actually is white, the fastest color.

Sorry, but the reason they paint the white is to make the car faster , not the other way around . Basic = White = slow

Upgraded = LO/UV = much faster Smiley

I gave the paintshield a miss too, wish I had it now. Myself always maintains a nice gap to the car in front on motorways to try and minimise those unsightly chips.

I always preferred to repaint a few years down the line then to have a paint shield . On this car it does hurt a bit more then usually to see the chips .....

How to break in an RS: Drive it 2300 km's to Nürburg. Try not to waist to many km's on the way Smiley . Stay as close as possible to the break-in recommendation from Porsche: 3000 km's.

Guys, what do you think about a protection film? Has anybody good experience? Something to recommend? Or is carnauba wax enough.

Second question to members from Europe. I am searching for a online shop to print the front license as a sticker, size like in Swiss. I know it is forbidden in Germany. But it will cost me only 5 € if I should get a fee.

A good wax is is good enough protection for normal dirt, dust, bird poop, and other non-abrasive substance.

Film protection protects all those plus the impact of small stones and rocks that gets thrown around, i.e. paint chipping. Not 100% protection but good enough for 99.9% of the stuff.

Some people are religious about filming their paint, some are not, it's a mostly personal choice. I didn't film most of the painted surface of my 918, only the exposed carbon bits, I believe the basic basalt black is simple enough for any bodyshop to respray. I was planning to film the RS because of the Lava Orange, but after a rock chip on the hood, I had decided to just skip filming the car and re spray when the time comes.
