I think that is a fair summary. It is a very aggressive design in person so the old style mantra that front engined Ferrari V12s should be in Grigio or Blue colours is out of the window now. Rosso Corsa still does not work but some of the triple layer reds might. However, I think it needs something that contrasts with the carbon elements so I am leaning towards Bianco Italia with a blue or red stripe or even a french flag strip to pay homage to the tdf name 
.

completely opposite reaction from me. That color does not go at all with the more modern and aggressive approach Ferrari is taking with this car. IMO
Because of the aggressive design language, I would choose a more calm color, kind of a compensation.

Because of the aggressive design language, I would choose a more calm color, kind of a compensation.
Well, we keep saying the Carrera S is a more classic and elegant shape and thus everyone likes it in black, white, grey, calm colors, etc. But we all kind of agree that cars like the GT4 and GT3RS look better in more flamboyant colors because of their race inspired nature and aggressive styling. Shouldn't the same argument fit the bill for the "RS" version of a Ferrari?

You're making a very good point but a Ferrari is already flashy by definition and the Tdf is kind of flashy on steroids.
