crayphile:MKW:surprising how you can hear the turbo whine on roll away ...kinda cheapens the sound
I agree - its remarkable how loud that turbo whine is. I'm still getting used to the new rear slats, but the design overall is a real success.
I like everything on the rear, including the rear slats, it gives a classic look

I also think that the rear slats ( vertical, and little recessed) are a very attractive design detail and a clever variation too in the "same but different" category. I like the lights very much and the bumper vents.
I am not enthusiastic about the front bumper design, however.

Atzporsche:Oh I love it! The sound, the looks and the color too!
They improved the sound to provide a slightly higher pitch instead of the standard deeper growl after not so satisfying feedback but keep in mind that this is the sport exhaust version and the moment the car gets slightly over idle, the sound isn't that good anymore. Also, between 30 and 70 kph, the same old story with the sound cut-down for regal reasons. So basically, the flaps are open up to 30 kph, then they close from 30 and 70kph and they open, depending on rev figure and speed above 70 kph.
It sounds better than the M4 though, this seems to be sure and the sound from the inside is not artificially amplified through the loudspeakers of the HiFi system (but the car has two sound symposers which lead the sound from the engine bay inside the car).
I am more curious how the next 911 generation will be, with flap operated exhaust being banned (according to pending regulations due around 2016). This will be a challenge!

That could be an easy fix in VW group... just install a software that checks if the car is tested
Sorry, I couldn't resist!
There is no try. Just do.

These times are over. I am however pretty sure that there are going to be other loopholes, hopefully legal ones.

Grant:I saw/heard the car too in Zuffenhausen. Looks great, but sounds quite tame compared to 991.1
I would still consider it though - would need to drive first...
It's been getting worse, the more it keeps on evolving
The perfect 911
991.2 World presentation will made in Estoril between 1 and 15 December, I can say it will be party in the house Back in 2004 the 997 was also presented here, those 15 days were glorious as you could see dozens & dozens of 911 everywhere making test drives and lots of cocktails, dinners and special events occurred too.
The place is wonderful for an event like this, great mountain roads in Sintra all over the place with few traffic, more than 40kms of roads next to Atlantic ocean with great views from Lisbon , Estoril and Cascais and brand new highways to stretch the 911 legs

RS 991:Any infos regarding the press release of the 991.2 Turbo? Since many claimed it will arrive before 2016.
Should be announced soon (meaning: within a two months time frame).

don't know, but it is pretty fast already. IMHO it does and will not suffer lack of pace, rather lack of driver involvement.
Tony007:Would a 20 hp bump on TTS even make a difference?
No, but electric turbocharger(s) might make response much better.

991.2 Carrera does not have VTG chargers, only 991 Turbo and Turbo S, facelift will very likely have them too but next generation engine will say good-bye to VTG chargers.

they will be installed in 992 turbo models. 991.2 tts is just an improvement over 991.1 tts. unlike carrera where 991.2 is major change to 991.1 carrera.... so I dont expect any super high results from 991.2 tts
