The 918 is apparently a Porsche factory car too. It's been featured in a few articles:
The 918 with plate "S GO9183" has similar livery but wears the number 23.

The 918 is definitely a factory car. Mark Webber drove it at the Australian GP for fast demonstration laps. It's also the car that Porsche did the 350kmh run in speed limit free Central Australia.

Whoopsy:He didn't place his order early enough. Simple as that.
Porsche is not going to make 1 more 918 just for him.
Im sure they could've hooked him up with with one of the unsold cars.
for one of the unsold or canceled cars
WAY:This is very interesting! Unlike the Silverstone test where the cars are all owned by one person, this appears to be cars provided by the factories! You can clearly see that the Porsche is a factory car. In fact you can even see the Porsche "uniform" being worn by the 3 guys on the right. You can also see Ferrari development driver Raffaele de Simone in the pic, so clearly the LaF is a factory car too. Can someone confirm from the McLaren plate if that is a factory car too?
In terms of the track, it looks like it's Portimao.
Yes the circuit is Portimão, Jeremy sure comes back in good style with this one, sweet revenge .

If you meant by the China market cars, well those were all spoken for at the European market. and I believe he bought his before those became available.

I'm still not a huge R8 fan but for under 100k, I think a R8 V10 Plus with low mileage is a steal. Also, I was looking for some sort of "exotic" as a weekend toy car and a Lamborghini would be difficult to maintain (next dealer is 70 km away), maybe even more expensive (I doubt I get a year old Gallardo with 20k km for under 100k EUR) and the Audi dealers are usually also throwing in a 5 year warranty. Not bad at all.
So no, I didn't really change my opinion but I think that used R8 V10 Plus are a good offer right now, considering their new price tag, the performance, the look and feel and of course the 5 year warranty Audi dealers throw in. You can't really go wrong with this car.

RC, you know that the R8 no matter how good a deal you would get, would be another stop-gap solution which would cost you money and erode into your car budget.
You really want a true exotic, you mentioned the Aventador many times, and therefore it will be preferable to get nothing and save money rather then compromise. Let's face it an Audi R8 is a very good sportscar but it is not in the true exotic class in spite of the N/A V10 and the rest.

Couldn´t agree more with Reginos, if you´re looking for a true exotic, better waite few more months to get the money and buy the real thing. The R8 is appealing indeed, good looking car, wonderful enfine sound, great build quality and reasonable price, still , it lacks the glamour, image and exclusivity of a true exotic. The Nissan GTR is also a great package but it´s not the real thing if you know what I mean

It had the full comparison of the cars at Silverstone:
1: McLaren P1
2: Porsche 918 Spyder
3: Ferrari LaFerrari
All within 3 tenths of eachother. Highest topspeed was the P1, highest braking force was 918 as well as the highest cornering force.

WAY:Like I said earlier, it's not even a fair comparison. P1 is not road legal in that set up while the other two is. Anyways can't wait to see the video! Wonder why it was removed.
And many thanks Porker!
They wouldn't want it shown free on YouTube in advance of subscribers seeing it on Amazon.

No no, Porker said this was the Silverstone test which is the test involving Paul Bailey's car. Clarkson and Harris tests were in Portugal. We have at least 3 separate test which is great news.
Josef:I think it is fair, it is just a push of a button in the P1 nothing else. You can drive the car to track just like the other two I am also really looking forward to the video, hope they are going to upload it soon again.
I hear what you are saying but if the other two cars could ride 50mm (I think) off the ground like the P1 then the results may have been quite different.

OK. Pulled before I saw it, so I just assumed it was the 3 Musketeers.
In that case, I think we also know why Paul Bailey would have wanted to pull it.

Yeah, and if the P1 had some aspect of the other cars, the results may be different as well. Run what ya brung.
The idea that the P1 ride height isn't legal is meaningless. Driving 100 mph and taking racing lines isn't road legal either. It's a track test. You take whatever the car gives you and see what it can do.
Very good showing for the P1. McLaren should be rewarded for their efforts, they have shaken up the competition and improve constantly their cars. If I was in the market for a 2 seater I would really consider a 650 spider, make it orange please
