I'm sorry, but a wing with thin metal uprights and endplates works fine on a 911 because of its turtle like silhouette that tumbles down dramatically towards the rear bumper ...but on a classic " three box " silhouette sedan or coupe with its horizontal trunk....it will look to anyone who is not a sporty-car board denizen like it is owned and modded by a 16 year old
( what's worse , I see these type of wings quite often , almost exclusively on cars like ratty 20 yr old Honda Accords driven in the " barrio " areas here in California )
it would have been better to incorporate a tall wing into a body colored molded uprights ...you know ...like the one on the iconic first M3 :

BMW is dead to me. All their latest and greatest disappoints. It seems they are going for the red light racer boys... sad but there's still AMG, with sleeker design and cooler engines.

seems that 500 HP , the latest Tire-technology and a NBR specific set up brings those times in These days.....do we know the Price already ? same category as a RS too ? to my eyes still only a pimped 3 series - nothing desirable
here is my consipracy : nobody except BMW will be able to replicate this time - ever

you guys are being unfair to BMW. in comparison, what are the GT3 and GT3RS other than pimped carreras? why do their spoilers look any better? i do not see why the GT3's differ from a ghetto body-shopped carrera any more than the BMW, and btw BMW interior beats the porsche interior easily IMHO.

I told you, I have my experience with Fiat products and I do not trust their numbers. The Giulia is a completely new product while BMW M GmbH has a lot of experience with such cars. I know where my money would go if I had to bet.

I'm afraid so. For this kind of money, I prefer the GT3. The original.

I just love the fact that when a non german producer with a 500hp/1500kg car states 7.39 everybody is like wohhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaa no way .. and a m4 gts same figures 7.28 (faster than gt3 eg.) no one give a fck hahaha ..
I don't know if any one of you even drove a normal m3/4 on track .. with michelin supersport (not cup) it's even diff to get 3rd gear corners full grip to push ..
I'm looking forward to see tests of the alfa and the GTS .. personally I think the new focus RS will be a killer

Peter, u r a die-hard Ferrari Fan I get that - and try to justify not to buy a GT3/RS - but if you would ask 10 People if they would buy a M4GTS or 991GT3RS for the same Money - I would bet 8-9 out of 10 would choose the Porsche. Look at some Chris Harris Videos around this Topic and check where the previous GTS product endet. 
I would certainly buy the GT3 RS. The GT3 RS is not just pimped Carrera, this claim is ridiculous. The engine, the gearbox, the chassis, the brake system, everything is different. Even some of the body parts have nothing to do with the Carrera models. C'mon, Peter...you can do better.

If I get a BMW then it would be a E46 CSL over this M4GTS and use the remaining CHF 100k for track day and private instructors 
If this is not an option, then I would get the GT3 RS.

How so copied Porsche? Just because of alcantara? Pretty standard thing.
I'd agree this thing is ridiculously priced if a regular model. But all these will go to die hard BMW fans and collectors, so the price is somewhat less important. Low production.

for the same money i'd also take the GT3RS over the M4GTS. i am on the list for the RS and still hope to get one. but i am not fooling myself by thinking that it is a great-looking car. just put it next to a 458speciale and i bet you eight out of ten people will adore the ferrari and not take a second glance at the RS. i do not want to deny though that stealth maybe to some people's advantage…:::)))
anyway, the M4GTS beats the M4 in my book.

I am pretty doing the same picks as Peter. Same money I will take GT3RS over the M4GTS. If just buying something for looks and money is secondary I will take the Speciale over the GT3RS. But for driving pleasures then it will be a hard choice between the Speciale and GT3RS, my personal pick would be GT3RS.

JoeRockhead:No different than the AMG Black Series. Neither was designed for a wing like that but if you want to add downforce, your options are limited. A lip spoiler won't cut it.
if you read the PR fluff for the M4 GTS , it is to celebrate the 30th anniv of the iconic " ur - M3 " ..so it should have used a different , bespoke to the model trunk lid with a built-in F40 style " high wing " ...just like the 1986 model it purports to celebrate ......would have been the perfect way to come " full circle " .......instead they went cost saving cheap with a bolted on " ghetto/ ricer " style wing !
