SciFrog:
Nice to see Porsche going all the way with the GT4 and build a track car.
Very exciting indeed Unless this race car completely flops this initiative should mean a lot for the coming GT4 generations. Maybe the rumours that the GT3 is being phased out are true?! Although I find them hard to believe.
After reading the, admittedly somewhat sparse, information about this new GT4 race version it does not sound like it is significantly different than the street version. 40kg less interior fluff and sound deadening, the front GT3 suspension upgraded to it's Cup counterpart and a PDK gearbox. The rest (engine, rear differential, rear suspension, etc.) appears to be the same. This simply points to the fact that the street version is already a worthy track car and that Porsche Motorsport had the race initiative in mind when designing the street version.
