In the reflection you can see Gollum (from Lord of the Rings) saying "my precious"
just kidding, congrats on the car, it really is precious!
Porker:Absolutely love it Eric, I'm even falling for the Salmon Orange!
The salmon/tomato is the best color for this car. Period !! The more I live with it the more I like it . It is fantastic and looks different depending of the time of the day . But it all depends on taste
The GT silver looks best on photos . It is not so ' liquid ' looking in real . Also it depends a lot of the light . When under darker light ( clouds , end of the day etc... ) it looks fantastic . Under sun light , or under other bright light it makes the car look pretty dull .

I drove my GT4 on the Ring this morning and there were a lava orange (from Finland!) and a GT silver 991 GT3 RS. My analysis about these 2 colors (I need to decide for my car by 17th November):
> GT silver looks premium, but very much understatement, too much understatement for the use I have which is primarily trackdays > no for GT silver
> lava orange looks brutal / insane, love also the orange stitch on leather (a pity that it is grey on all other paint colors), BUT... how will lava look like / be perceived in 5 years + from now. Every fancy color gets old quickly in comparison to "neutral" colors > not sure for lava orange
White would be at the end the safe and motorsport color, but my last 3 GT3, GT3 RS, GT4 were white...
Shit, I need to think more about it...

I wouldn't worry about future perception of LO. I think most people look at these colours in the context of the cars they're on rather than any comparison with contemporary tastes. E.g. People don't look down on Rubystone (pink!) 964RS even though few would choose that colour today.. Equally certainly no-one is avoiding the orange or viper green 997.1RS.. I'd say the signature colours for a given model are actually more desireable.

I continu the plastic covering and i stop now
For the LO color all people say maybe but.. when my car arrive the same persons say me ok it's the color for the RS no doubt. This color need to be in a natural environement. I have no regret with this color

sfo:LP997:I make a template and I heat with a hair dryer to make it take shape. the parts must be degreased before sticking. easy but we must be patient . The product is HEXIS 3D carbon
you are very good at it!
I assume you make the template from HEXIS?
No i make my own template with paper scotch the product is made by HEXIS

Gnil:That is indeed very impressive. Can I bring you my car ?
On a more serious note, how do you manage to do it so precisely ? I would love to do it, but not sure I would do a perfect job .......
you can do it because it's the first time I'm doing this, the film is easily applied and after you take a good cutter (modelisme) and you cut the surplus. After that you warmers and polymerized. Do not wash the car for three days the time that the film adheres well on the parts.

Gnil congrats on your new LO beast! Re. the photos, you know from previous posts that LO is difficult to photograph - this is partly because it is a color that pushes to the limit the color gamut of most computer screens, and also this color is dependent on the light in the scene, and on the white balance the camera uses. If these were phone shots, most phone cameras do a poor job in auto-setting white balance consistently, so not a surprise that your photos vary. If you are thinking about getting more serious photos done, perhaps consider using a camera that can shoot raw files (where white balance can be adjusted in processing -- with jpegs you cannot do this), and even do a custom white balance by shooting a grey card before the photography. (sorry if this is too much.... photography is a hobby!) .
