noone1:How'd it compare to the Speciale coupe? Have you driven both?
Its been a while since I drove the coupe. Inevitably some more rattles and shake in the Aperta but it loses nothing in terns of speed and handling and gains so much more in terms of the open air drive and rarity.
Is The Aperta a limited edition car?
crayphile:J.Seven:Crayphile, which sounds better, Huracan or 458S ? Would love to see Huracan next to the other wonderful toys you have ;)
The Huracan for sure - especially on the downshift. Photo request noted
interesting that you think so. i don't like the sound of the hurricane too much - it is too 'turbine-like' for me and i dislike those burbles which sound artificial. pretty much reminiscent of the turbo S in that respect.

Probably because I am a V12 guy at heart rather than V8. I get your turbine point though. The 458 note has always had a bit of a "bellow" to my ears up to about 5K revs; though the Speciale's sound is definitely better and has a raspier note even lower down. Having said all that back to the V12 - nothing matches it .

There are many 458S owners at Ferrari.com that are totally dasappointed with engine sound this car provides, and I´m not talking about two or three guys.

SciFrog:I never found the V8 Ferraris to sound good anyway. My V8 Aston blows them out of the water as well as all 911 variants...
The V8 in the F355 did sound good.
We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.

you are right about the ferrari F12 sound. i just don't like the whole F12 package, just the LaFe from their V12 offerings. but i suppose this will change when the F12GTO (or whatever it will be called) comes out.
your 458specialeA looks superb, very tasteful, a piece of automotive art. congrats!!!!!

No matter what kind of engine will be in my future sports cars, there will be always a V8 somewhere in my garage. I just love the V8 sound. Regarding the 458 Speciale: Absolutely my dream car after I drove one many many months ago. So forgiving, the ESP setup is just perfect, the car is amazing and it sounds amazing. The performance is just out of this world for a n/a car and I truly loved it. I would love to get one used at a reduced price but I know too well that this isn't going to happen.
